Does Father Christmas use the same wrapping paper as you?

It just occured to me last night as I wrapped everything, I'm using the same paper for presents from us and from Father Christmas... ds is only 3 so I might just get away with it, but is this something I need to think about next year?

For the first year this year, FC uses different wrapping paper (DD is 7yo). It's not been spotted so far.
However, I ran out of FC wrapping paper and had to swap back. Hope no one notices Blush.

Mine never noticed, and they didn't notice that Santa and mummy had the same handwriting. Perhaps I've just bred rather thick innocent babes?

No he has bought some different wrapping paper specially Grin

Sure does.

Sometimes Mummy pops off to help the elves do some of their wrapping too, they're so busy, poor things. She has a time machine in the shed in the garden so it doesn't take her any time at all.

You just need to get inventive Xmas Grin

Everything gets sent to Santa and then he brings them at xmas if they have been good Xmas Grin

Wrapping them for Santa saves him time when he is so busy Xmas Wink

DD sussed the whole FC lie thing out at 8 when she noticed that we used the same wrapping paper as FC. I didn't think she'd have noticed as she wanders through life with her head in a daydream, but she did!

We leave wrapping paper and tags out for Santa along with his mince pie and large whisky so he can do his wrapping here. Otherwise he might get presents mixed up.

my wrapping paper always co ordinates with the tree but santa uses that gaudy character paper...you know with the DC favourate shows on. i reckon this year it'll be disney p[rincess and fineas and furb.

he is much better than me though, i use a bog standard black biro..santa has a silver/gold pen and big swirly writting.

Father Christmas doesn't wrap in this house, he puts his pressies direct in the stocking. If it is wrapped then it is from someone other than Father Christmas.

kahlua4me · 22/12/2010 12:11

Of course he has his own paper, the same every year!

What does Father Christmas put in their stockings?
My ds only ever asks him for 1 thing. He is 7 and has always done this.
Does that come from father christmas or does he only bring little gifts?

yes -santa always uses different paper.

He is only 4 but he's quick!

yes he does sometimes (not this year as they have stockings which are unwrapped from him - thanks MN Santas Xmas Grin) - but usually he does.

You see he looks after all the presents from friends and relatives (she says like they get loads from friends and family - actually no they get from me and my best friend usually and that's it Xmas Blush) and wraps them all up and delivers with his token gift - so it's perfectly normal that he may have used the same wrapping paper when wrapping the present from me as from him.

Santa is too busy to wrap presents.

Yes, Santa uses coloured tissue paper for handmade-by-elves feel. It is the only precious Xmas thing I do. Everything else is a bit slapdash.

santa doesn't buy my kds presents, all he does is deliver all of them

arentfanny · 22/12/2010 12:21

I don't wrap stocking presents which are the only presents FC brings, everything else is from us, family, etc. Saves a lot of confusion.

I'm Santa isn't wrapping anything in the stocking but ds has been asking every Santa he's met he'd like some Fireman Sam stuff so we've Father Christmas has got him the firestation and the vehicle set as they were in the Sainsburys half price toy sale (even Father Christmas collects Nectar points :o) so that's too big for a stocking and will be under the tree in suspiciously similar paper.

What Trinity said. DC's will probably now think Santa is the UPS man the rest of the year.

dd and ds have colour coded wrapping paper so we dont have to put tags on i.e. dd's has a pink background and ds's has a blue background. I wrap dh's in different paper and dh wraps mine in different paper again so we all know who gets what.

Santa always wrapped the stocking presents in tissue paper, different colour for DS & DD, because he didn't like fiddling aound with sellotape for lots of tiny stuff and he found he could just sort of scrunch tissue paper round things.

He also used to very kindly leave a drink and a small variety pack of cereal by the bed so the DC could have breakfast without getting DH & I up - he even sent an elf downstairs to get a bowl and spoon each for them, (he must have known that luckily my DC like their cereal dry....)

Santa doesn't wrap here either. I don't know why but that's the way my parents did it for us so it feels right to me.

not this year.
Last year Santa had run out of wrapping paper, but this year he has a nice supply of shiny tissue paper. Xmas Smile
If he hadn't any tissue paper, he wouldn't be wrapping anything again.

I dont want to wrap as that was what my mum did but dh is really insistent - we actually had a falling out about it last year Blush

Report
Hulababy · 22/12/2010 13:02

No.

Usually FC's presents are left set up and out. The odd time he has wrapped them he has used different wrapping paper too other presents in the house.
