Hi I am toying with the idea of a karaoke machine for DD (7). We have lips on the xbox and she loves it and often wanders round with the mike but we are unable to get broadband here to cannot access many of the songs. Am I right that a karaoke machine will play any CD and display the lyrics on the TV screen? Wasn't sure if I have to purchase special CDs? Am thinking of the Goodmans one from Argos if anyone has any comments on this product.

No a karaoke machine will play CD+G discs. Which is compact disc plus graphics - ie the lyrics.

Aghhhh! Oh well thanks for you help! Why is it so hard to buy for kids these days! Will have a look at the CD+G discs then. Thank-you X

You can use ordinary CDs but they won't have graphics on the screen.
