Christmas card strings/holders

I am desperate to find a practical/attractive solution to displaying Xmas cards. Perhaps some sort of string with pegs, but with a decent capacity to hold lots of cards - the sets I've seen don't seem to hold very many and are quite expensive. Any other creative suggestions please?

We always staple on to ribbon and hang them down in rows. I just book a new roll of lovely tartan ribbon from fabricworld.com in Birmingham. Its hair ribbon but you can use it for Xmas cards. If you don't like to staple though you may have a problem with this method. You can just staple the back bit but then the card can flap open. Again you might like that if you want to reread the mesages but just to get the pics as decoration it works to staple through both top and bottom of the card. Its not difficult to get them off later and you can even buy staple removing tools.

We use sticky tack to affix our cards to a door. If you wanted to hang from ribbon, what about paper clips if you can't get tiny pegs? Cards with the fold at the top can be hung over a horizontal ribbon without a clip.

DH puts a few inconspicuous nail up and then I make silver matt raffia strings and attach the cards using poncetastic wee little green felt Christmas tree pegs I got from Paperchase a few years ago.

These are similar

Lakeland has sticky ribbon that worked well one year for us, but now we just bung them up in the kitchen .

I put up an edited selection on the dresser shelves, poke a few in between the books on the shelves and chuck the rest in a big glittery bowl.

Same as nonanny.

Buy nice ribbon, it might not be cheap but you will have it for years and years. Hang down walls and staple/blu tac cards to it.

I like the ribbon and stapling idea, thanks. I also found these:

I think I have an irrational need for mini pegs! Grin
