Secret Santa Thank You Thread

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

A duplo set turned up for ds4 this morning as well, also from Amazon so possibly part of first order or possibly not.

Thanks, perfect choices.

CMyes, very much thought. I haven't been able to do it either but have in the past and well aware of effort, ideed postal prices too.

oh my ! I have just received a totally fab Amazon gift voucher - am surprised to be nominated in any case - but this is so generous and kind and I am really very touched.
(ref 87D) thank you so much Grin Smile xxx

oooh. So nice to read. I have sent the past few years, and have really enjoyed finding the 'right' thing to send - even doing a bit of cryptic MN searching to garner likes and dislikes - amazing what you can find out about someone on here, just by knowing the town they live in!
Anyway, am sadly in no position to contribute this year :( so to read the happy messages is ace!

It's all organised, this year, by MNHQ, ACT. People nominated those they thought were in need back in October, and other people volunteered to give gifts, and MNHQ have matched them up, supplying addresses for the senders.

my understanding is, it is not about need necessarily, but rather a way of saying 'thank you' to a poster who you feel might have been supportive, nice/kind/had a hard time/done something good, given MN a good name, as well as need?

Is that right? Either way it is lovely.

LewisFan, there is something in the post also for your son. (which you can either get something before Christmas with, or let him choose!)

Hope you get to pamper yourself with the smellies!

Hi santasmooningarse

I'm glad that the gifts were ok and that they all arrived safely. And yes the duplo was part of the same order (they were meant to arrive together - oh well)

Hope you have a lovely christmas and that 2011 is happy/heathly/fun etc

Can I just say a really big thankyou to the person who nominated me this year,

I didn't feel comfortable receiving anything so asked for my nomination to be passed forward to someone more deserving.

But the thought was very much appreciated.
Thankyou Smile
