I would say not at all :)

DS1 is 4 and a half and still loves it. The people get used for everything and random buildings get involved in all sorts of stories.

What are you thinking of getting? I've kind of promised DH i'll not get anymore but am sorely tempted!!

We have the:
house
post office
fire station
airport (not the best bit)
camping set
ambulance
loads of extra people :)

Well... we have loads and it has been one of our most loved toys but I'd say 4 is just on the edge of being too old for it - my two are 5 and nearly 3 and I am thinking of putting the Happyland in the loft to make space for more Playmobil as they don't play with it very often these days. Although that said, dd (the 5yo) will still play with it for ages occasionally - but Playmobil seems better for her age range as it is much more detailed and versatile.

I do love Happyland though - definitely one to save for potential future babies/the grandchildren! Smile

Hmm, dd1 is 3 and it doesn't get played with that much anymore, but that may be because she favours peppa pig tat playsets.

I agree with Jareth and second the Playmobil suggestion. It is fab.

Nooo! my dd4 loves the stuff! She sits for ages and does 'roleplay' with the little figures! I just depends on the child i suppose

ok thanks :)

I was thinking of getting the double decker bus, as DD has asked for a bus for christmas (she's actually asked for a beatles magical mystery tour bus but unfortunately they don't make a toy version!).

I can't find a playmobil bus, do they make one?

There used to be a bus on the Playmobil website (playmobil.com) but they don't have it any more - you can sometimes get things there from their Direct Service catalogue that aren't available in shops.

But the Happyland bus looks great fun and it's not a massive outlay is it, only £15 - and they have 20% off today, so I suppose it wouldn't matter too much if she only played with it for a year or so.

By the way, I just googled and found this Smile (but ouch at the price - maybe worth checking Ebay?)

No, my (nearly 7yo) DD1 still plays with it alongside her Playmobil and Lego but she can get lost for ages in roleplay.

The playmobil campervan is fab. But not a bus so that probably doesn't help...

I saw those ones tikkabilla and Icouldhavewrittenthis but didn't they were suitable for a 4 yo old (what with them being "collectors items"!), and obviously the price put me off as well. I may check ebay though and see if I can get a cheap one so it don't matter if she bashes it about...thanks :)
