I think a lot of the games are aimed at 3+ as is the concole. I have bought one for ds's 4th birthday so can let you know what i think of it if you want

i have bought this for xmas for dd1 who was 3 in july, she is quite bright for her age but tbh i think she is too young for it so have decided to put it away for her birthday next year, yes most of the games are aged 3+ but the concentration and interest would soon wear off ..

My daughter had one from 3 years old and never showed any interest in it.
I bought one for my 4 year old son, as he was going on and on about wanting a Wii console and i really didn't want to get him one until he was around 7 years old and he absolutely loves it.
You can buy different age appropriate games and most are very straight forward.
My son has only needed help with a game a few times when he's got stuck and once i show him what to do, he picks it up very easily.

dd 4 has one as she wanted wii, but thought she was too young. the v motion is not v good, dd is bright for 4, she gets on well with wii at my sis house but the motion is not sensitive enough at times and over sensitive other times. the games would be to difficult for most 3yrs i think. but dd is not very intersted in it and plays it seldomly so not much practice i suppose, unlike sum04 ds. maybe down to the childs interest.

i got it for my ds2 last year when he was 3 and he was too young, he has only just started playing with it now, nearly 12 months later
