Been wanting to do this thread for a while -
I worked at a family attraction this summer including before and after masks were mandatory.

Ask me anything!

To start... yes we do judge your little darlings who break things when we’re back in the office

What's the worst customer you have ever dealt with?

Over the summer there was a lot of general cheeky fuckery when enforcing masks. The attitude and swearing from one woman sticks out. She had an issue with being asked to wear a mask after she’d told me she couldn’t due to her son needing to lip read as he was deaf... her son wasn’t with her. After being made to wear one before let in, she proceeded to complain all the way around that it wasn’t doable in her shoes like it was our fault... these were stilettos

Was it Alton Towers? I saw an interesting documentary about re-opening that. The vegetation had started growing through the rides, and the place was full of wasps nests.

Did you have to do lots of post-lockdown clearing up of that sort OP?

Is it a theme park though? I would have thought family attraction could mean different things

We had to do lots of cleaning! Luckily our space was already very distances between each exhibit so not a lot of crowding and gave us time to clean between each use but we basically had to keep an anti bac spray in our hands at all times!

Not a theme park. Think more exhibits but family friendly.

Having seen the visitors without masks and then having seen them with masks, would you say that wearing masks reduced the public's enjoyment of their experience? Or couldn't you tell?

We actually made a big effort to ask customers this on their exit. Most of the photo opportunities were moved away from other things and one group could use at a time so we allowed them to drop masks temporarily for this as we risk assessed it would be safe to do so. Other than that aspect, most said they enjoyed it just the same - we did have some customers return before and after they were mandatory

Oooh gosh, now you've got me. I think it was on one of the main channels, and I'm pretty sure it had ad breaks .... so Channel 4, 5 or ITV maybe?
