As the title suggests!! Fire away...

Were you dressed the same as kids and if so did you like it or hate it?

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 Thu 09-Aug-18 21:46:02

Did you hate being known as "the twins"

Pompom42 Thu 09-Aug-18 21:47:06

If one of you has a tummy ache does the other one feel it too?

iLoveSpaDays Thu 09-Aug-18 21:52:22

Have you ever blamed your twin for something you actually did?

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 21:56:12

Yes, my mum used to make us our clothes when we were kids and we were always dressed the same! Hated it!!

Hate being called 'the twins'... we have our own identities.. used to annoy me at school but to be fair, don't get called that anymore now

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 21:58:33

I don't feel it if she has a tummy ache, but definitely know if something is wrong. When she had an accident on the motorway (pre mobile phones) I just knew something was wrong. I remember pacing up and down the living room with a pit in my stomach.

I always know if it is her calling me even if the number is withheld. I can just sense it.

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 21:59:55

Nope, would never blame her for something I did... would more likely take the blame now to get her out of trouble!!! Although that would depend on what she had done!

Do you think your parents ever got muddled when you were babies and switched you around? So eg if you think you’re the oldest and named Karen, maybe you’re really the younger twin Jenny but one day your mum forgot which baby was in which crib.

PalePinkSwan Thu 09-Aug-18 22:02:29

PS friends of mine who had twins admit they may have got them muddled in the sleep deprived early days....

GinaCarbonara Thu 09-Aug-18 22:05:42

Are you mirror twins?

flapjackfairy Thu 09-Aug-18 22:05:50

Do you worry that your DH or boyfriend fancies your twin as well. Always wanted to ask that but seemed a bit rude !

BlossomCat Thu 09-Aug-18 22:06:43

My older sisters are identical twins. They live miles apart, but often buy the same, or very similar clothes, shoes, birthday presents and cards. They will turn up to events in similar outfits. They never discuss what they wear or buy with each other, but it 'just happens'
Do you and your sister do that, or are my sisters weird?

Itchytights Thu 09-Aug-18 22:08:23

My two best friends are identical twins.

They are wonderful.

What, in your opinion, is the best and worst things about being an identical twin?

Inniu Thu 09-Aug-18 22:08:31

Did you fight a lot as kids?

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 22:14:18

Hi, we often buy the same birthday cards, gifts etc for people without knowing. My mum has had countless Mother's Day cards that are the same! Clothes wise not so much.

My sister is married to twin ( non identical). I dated him for about 2 weeks about 25 years ago!! Oops. But no, I never think or other halves fancy my sister. Whilst we look alike we are almost polar opposites in personality. It's almost like one person split in too. She is very much the sensible one. But we compliment each other perfectly.

I don't know if we ever got mixed up at birth! Will ask my mum. I doubt it though as she thinks we look nothing like each other! Mind you, I look at photos of us aged about 15 and I don't know who is who. My dad still gets us mixed up now (temporarily) but that could be his age!!

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 22:16:38

Gina, no, not mirror twins. We are from one egg split in two

Petalflowers Thu 09-Aug-18 22:17:20

I’m an identical twin as well. We always meet on ‘our’ birthday. Do you?

Petalflowers Thu 09-Aug-18 22:18:33

Do you answer to your sisters name, even in adulthood? Do you use the prefix ‘we’ when talking about events, as you always did things with your sister?

GingerGetThePopcorn Thu 09-Aug-18 22:18:37

Always wondered this. Did you go through puberty at the same time or did one of you develop earlier than the other?

DENMAN03 Thu 09-Aug-18 22:18:51

Petal, we see each other all the time.. at least 3 times a week and message every day. We are very close. We always meet on our birthdays but never get each other a card or present for some reason!

Petalflowers Thu 09-Aug-18 22:19:39

When you are together now, do people still do a double-take? We’ve had random people (usually men) talk to us because we are twins.

jmh740 Thu 09-Aug-18 22:20:27

Do you have the same fingerprints?

Petalflowers Thu 09-Aug-18 22:21:41

Ginger - my sister and I experienced puberty at different times.

Petalflowers Thu 09-Aug-18 22:22:49

Presuming you have children, have your dc ever been confused when young?
