Yes I live in London. I'd say the main difference in terms of lifestyle IMO is that in Italy there is generally more social interaction. In Italy most people devote a huge chunk of their day to interacting with other people. The Brits are more reserved I think. Moreover, socializing revolves around food in Italy, while it mostly revolves around alcohol in the UK.

In my experience Italians eat a lot more fresh ingredients and better quality food. I was shocked with the prevalence of ready meals when I first moved to the UK. I also think (and I am ready to be flamed) that many people in the UK have zero education in terms of nutrition, while in Italy you sort or absorb the basic notions from your grandparents and parents while growing up.

The amount of times I have seen "sausages and jack potatoes" listed as a healthy, light meal on Mumsnet

How often do you eat pasta? I read in a magazine once that 60% of Italians eat pasta everyday. I'm Italian too but only eat pasta every 2/3 days. I have found a few people men that eat pasta every day for lunch.

I have been, and I would honestly recommend Sicily, Apulia and Sardinia over the Amalfi Coast..

I definitely used to eat pasta everyday when I lived in Italy. Now, after having lived abroad for a decade or so, I eat pasta maybe once a week. No change in my weight or size though.

What do you miss about Italy?
I miss the people and sometimes the lifestyle. Being outdoors a lot, having lunch on Sunday with family on the beach, drinking great wine for no next to no money. When I lived in Italy I did not realize how precious those luxuries are!

Would you say Italians are generally more friendly than British people?
Most definitely yes

What made you move to the U.K.?
I left Italy straight after uni and lived in Asia for a few years. The UK seemed like a good way to transition from Asia's craziness back to good old Europe.

Do you miss the beautiful Italian landscape?
I do, although I also love the British countryside to
bits!
