AIBU?

AIBU to ask DH to wear pants in the Kitchen?

It's hot here at the moment. Aircon set to 25, outside temos above 40.
DH gets home from work, has a shower, and then wanders around starkers. We have one big lounge/dining room/ kitchen.
AIBU to ask him to put some pants or shorts on? He says he's just showered, so clean. I want his arse covered when sitting at the table, or in the kitchen. Who IBU?

What are you worried about exactly? That his anus or penis will come into contact with the furniture?

dementedpixie · 08/10/2015 10:21

Yes he should wear something even if just a pair of boxers

Gileswithachainsaw · 08/10/2015 10:22

U wouldn't want to sit on a chair/sofa when someone's bare arse has.

maybe compromise and ask to sit on a towel?

Gileswithachainsaw · 08/10/2015 10:22

I

DesertorDessert · 08/10/2015 10:36

No, just think it's wrong to not cover up a little in food environments. Boxers would be fine. I don't mind what, just something when he's wandering about for a couple of hours.

YABU. I would like to have a pantsless man wandering around my kitchen.

Also, my dog sits her bare arse on the furniture and I put up with that, so I could hardly complain about a human bumhole, esp. a clean one.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 08/10/2015 10:47

If he's just showered then to be honest, the bottom half should be as clean as the top half!

My biggest worry would be getting stray pubes in my dinner, but then DP's chest hair in my dinner is not really any more palatable and I quite often find them floating around the kitchen.

Not sure who is BU here, but certainly it wouldn't hurt him to put a pair of pants on, so probably him.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 08/10/2015 10:48

Good point push - I guess if my cat clambers around on the table I just give it a wipe before I use it - could do the same for DP Grin

Branleuse · 08/10/2015 10:51

if hes always done this, then whats the problem. Its ok to be nude in your own home surely?

Its not unreasonable to wish someon would wear clothes, but its not unreasonable to want to be naked sometimes at home either.

DesertorDessert · 08/10/2015 10:55

I've only seen him do it for the past 2 weeks. He could well have been like this for the past 2 months when he was here, and I was working out my notice in the UK.

Sounds like neither of us are BU, we just have different preferences for clothing levels.

serve soup? Wink

Cerseirys · 08/10/2015 11:00

Are you Charlotte from Sex and the City??

APlaceOnTheCouch · 08/10/2015 11:17

YANBU. I ask DP to put pants on if he is in the kitchen.

BadLad · 08/10/2015 11:23

I would like to have a pantsless man wandering around my kitchen.

Ponders career change

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/10/2015 11:24

APlace I now have an image of your Dh having a hook in the kitchen with his pants on which he puts on when he enters kitchen and takes off and hangs on hook when he goes out.

I think I'd prefer Dh to have his boxers on anywhere other than bedroom and bathroom so YANBU.

catfordbetty · 08/10/2015 11:25

It's still not clear (to me, at least) what you think might happen. What specific risks are there in a "food environment"?

cozietoesie · 08/10/2015 11:26

How is he with his used teabags? (Also thinking of Charlotte.)

scatterthenuns · 08/10/2015 11:27

Nah, I'm very pro-naked. Non sexual nudity is a fave for DH and I when we are home alone together.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 08/10/2015 11:29

Through that is a good idea Grin

catford we have lots of friends who work in catering. They're not even allowed to have hair on display in case of contamination, never mind dangly bits!

DesertorDessert · 08/10/2015 11:33

Can someone explain the SITC link, please? It's a series I've never watched.

I'm not sure what would happen. I'm just not fond of it. The kids are around too (4 and 6), so its not like anything will happen.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 08/10/2015 11:48

SATC: Charlotte gets annoyed because her husband insists on being naked and she has white furniture. She tells him about it and he is upset he upset her!

I wouldn't be annoyed about it. I think it's far more offensive when a man wears a t shirt and not pants, so you just get a peek of balls and nob hanging out....Grin

Pushoutthejive · 08/10/2015 12:29

What are you using the cat for, Mark? Shock Grin

God i love it when DH strides about naked! Sexy bast'd Grin

Klaptrap · 08/10/2015 13:03

Unless he's rubbing his cock on the tea towel and sprinkling his pubes around the work-surface, then I'm afraid I think YABU (and a bit of a prude).

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2015 13:10

Its a bit fussy - The man has had a shower and is clean!
People allow their dogs who have been outside, shed hairs and probably have crap around their arses to sit on furniture, but a clean showered man is a germ risk??
