"Luxury stay with an farming education too...…"
We stayed at Mill Farm earlier this year and had the most fantastic time. A short distance from Devizes, in Wiltshire, we stayed in a luxury canvas lodge. Kitted out with a double room, a single room, a bunk-bed room, a kitchen area and a living/eating area, there is plenty of space for the whole family. It was a little bit chilly at night when we went - but the proper duvets and electric blankets on the beds ensured proper luxury and meant that we weren't cold at all. And we got to build a real fire - both outside on the porch in the fire pits provided, and in the real stove. Locally sourced delicious farm food is available in the on site honesty shop. But the real treat of Mill Farm is the experience you have because you're staying on a real farm. In a completely non-condescending way, Farmer Joe took us on a number of journeys round the farm and taught us lots about modern farming. Chicken, cows, donkeys and deer were just some of the animals we encountered during our stay. For city folk like us this was a brilliant education - and our 6 year old loved the experience of riding on a real John Deere Gator and Tractor. You are also provided with a helpful list of suggestions of places to eat and things to do nearby. We were only staying for the weekend but managed to fit in horse-riding at the farm next door, which was a brilliant experience led by lovely people. All in all, I can definitely recommend a trip to Mill Farm.Read moreLess

"Best family holiday by a country mile!!!…"
This was by far the best uk holiday we have ever had. The week before we were at centerparcs but for us glamping at mill farm was the better holiday - more us! Everything has been thought of to make you have a wonderful stay here, the tents are brilliantly equipped, bedding provided (most comfortable bed ever), and Joe & Izzy and their wonderful family are great hosts. The nice thing here is someone will pop down in the morning and in the evening to make sure you have had a nice day and everything is okay. As there are only 4 tents you get to know people and the dyke family get to know you which gives it a more personal touch. The kids can go and play together in a safe environment and you know that they are allowed to be kids and run around without bothering anyone. The honesty shop is well stocked and there is a farm shop not far down the road which we would recommend. This place is such a jewel that it will get lots of repeat custom in years to come so I am slightly wary of giving it too good a review as we are looking at going back next year and hope there will be a space for us! Anyway, if you like the outdoors but with the comforts of home and no tv just the stars for company in the evening book here as we are glad we did!! A big thank you to the Dyke family!Read moreLess
