Whitehill Country Park

Overall a great site. We went with our two children and two other families- 6 children age range 2-6. The atmosphere on the site was great.

Arrived just over an hour before 3pm check in time and were taken straight to pitch. We were in Coombe meadow, right next to small playground, ideal as children could play alone and be seen at all times! Only small moan is that older children & teenagers often decided to use playground to meet between 10 & 12pm, although always obliged when we asked them to leave or quieten down. Short walk upto clubhouse/shop/pool.

Showers/Loos- Not the cleanest I have ever seen- they only seem to clean at eye level so the walls were quite grubby. The showers were mostly hot in the ladies, apparently my husband had a few cold ones though. Biggest complaint was that most of the showers only last 5 seconds before the button needs pressing again- understand the need to conserve water but 5 seconds much too short.

Shop/Cafe- Shop stocked all the essentials and quite a bit more- no fresh bread though. Lots of kids medicines/toys & treats. Fairly pricey but not the worst campsite shop I have seen. Cafe was OK, good breakfast- 2 full english for £7. Also small takewaway menu.

Disco- Childrens games after bingo so 8-9.30 a bit late for the very young children. Generally good music and nice atmosphere.

Pool- Very busy in hot weather but always managed to find at least one chair to put our things on. Pool is lifeguard attended during the day. Main pool slightly heated but still chilly! Toddler pool not heated at all which was a shame.

Staff were hardworking & friendly. Excellent bird of prey display on Thursday mornings and animal show on Friday mornings- kids were mesmerized. I probably would return to Whitehill and would give it 8/10.
