"Family friendly location away from the kiss-me-quick crowd…"
Camp sites usually fall into one of two categories. They're either far from the madding crowd with basic facilites, or noisy, cramped sites with a cafe, clubhouse and chips!
Waxham Sands manages to avoid both cliches. Located on an unspoilt part of the North East Norfolk coast, a short hop over the sand dunes takes you onto miles of sandy beach. The stretch between Sea Palling and Horsey is particularly beautiful. And quiet. At Horsey gap we saw over 100 seals on the beach!
The site has a shop selling everything that you need or have forgotten to bring. The showers are clean and hot. The pitches generously sized.
If you tire of the beach, the Norfolk Broads are very close - my recommendation would be Hickling Broad.
If you are looking for a clean, family friendly campsite with good facilities away from the Cromer, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft set, this site ticks all the boxes.Read moreLess
