"Loads of stuff for the kids & easy camping…"
My first holiday with 3DCs (4,6 & 8) as a single parent and it was so easy! Campsite has clearly defined pitches, easy access to clean loos, hot showers and washing up stations. Staff were friendly, even in the on site restaraunt/bar on a hot and crowded July evening.
We were there for four days and the kids had so much fun on the lake, forming friendships with the other kids & squirting each other with water pistols. When they weren't in the water, they were all over the adventure playground. There is a great toddler area plus loads for the bigger kids. Zip wires, obstacle course, helter-skelter slides, a massive wooden fort & rope climbing frames. We also had a go at canoeing. They also have zorbs, a big zip wire and high ropes.
Special mention for the on-site shop. It was open all hours, sells basic groceries (fresh hot dog buns every day!) plus a good range of camping essentials for the things you forgot, from tent pegs to a butane stove. They also had swimming gear and the kinds of pocket money toys kids love to spend their cash on. We didn't have to leave the site, which was great because I didn't fancy driving round the small local towns looking for a shop with three bickering kids in tow.
The whole park is set in stunning countryside, with the river Dart running through the site. Lots of nature for the kids to see.
Thank you River Dart Counry Park!Read moreLess
"Brilliant fun with children…"
A fab campsite to go away as a family - loads to do on site, great family bathroom with bath, clean, plentiful showers, toilets and washing-up areas. There are free freezers for ice-blocks, drying rooms and easily accessible water points. Some of the pitches slope a bit but they are generously sized and the site was very quiet 10-7. The shop had the basics we needed and the bar/cafe did a good carvery. Definitely planning to go back!Read moreLess
