If you want very wild and free camping - with camp fires and mjusic til the late hours - try this place. It is right on the sand dunes. Seals play on the beaches. Lots of families go there and spend the month of August. It is however extremely basic - and the toilets foul up something rotten. Cheap though and unhassled. You choose where you want to pitch and take as much room as you need. It is not at all cramped. Somewhat hippyish, I guess. Part of the site is devoted to ravers, but they don't tend to be on the family end.
