Fabulous location - the beach really is beautiful - and esp good if you fancy learning skimboarding - great long flat stretches. Pitches are very flat and well maintained, and the new seahorse centre is (so far) looking sparkly and new - nice pool for less sunny days.
It was very busy when we were there, but the site seemed quiet after about 10-10.30, with relatively few large, multi-family groups which can tend towards unintentional noisiness.
Pub in Pentewan does decent pub grub, and there is also a good bike hire place in the village.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

It was a bit big, and a bit packed for me. That said, the glorious beach right by the campsite is fantastic, and for us sailing bodies, the fact we could launch our boat there was a massive plus. I could have done without the 'amusements'.

A lovely site close to Heligan Gardens and Mevagissey.
The primary seling point of this site is that it has its own beach - and not just any beach either; gorgeous, sandy with just enough rock pools to amuse the little ones (and the Dads).
Facilities are clean, excellent quality, and comprehensive: shop is excellent, outdoor pool good (they run children's diving classes there), there is a club of the big-commercial-variety but it is camouflaged well and not intrusive if that's not your thing.
Highly recommend the on site catering, the breakfasts and carvery especially.
Pitches are of the basic marked out variety, but spacious and adequate.
Only two things to note:
. The very best seafront pitches need booking around November, they operate a strict proceudre for this, details in the brochure
. They let people in before the admission time without checking pitch is vacant: for us on the last day that meant us striking whilst several people got annoyed because they turned up at 8am and wanted us out, this was quite intimidating, but probably very unusual.
A boat trip from Mevagissey to Fowey is highly recommended, as is Crealy CornwallRead moreLess4 people found this review helpful.
