"very disappointed, there was no control on the noise level"
20-Aug-2011
very disappointed, there was no control on the noise level at all, the site clearly stated that no noise was allowed after 11pm and that if breached clients would be asked to leave, we were pitched near a disgusting group of people whose language and noise level were totally unacceptable on a family site. we complained to reception as did numerous other families, but it made no difference, we mentioned on leaving that the site was very noisey and were told if we had complained they would have been warned !!! how many complaints did they need before they actually asked people to leave.also the pool was not properly policed , the life guards did nothing to stop very rowdy teenagers from fooling around near smaller children, this went beyond kids just having fun.it seems to be the sort of site that families who want to let their kids run wild with no supervision would use, which was a shame as the site is in a nice location and the facilities good.

"Wet and windy weekend at Mill Farm. Had takeaway fish"
20-Jun-2011
Wet and windy weekend at Mill Farm. Had takeaway fish and chips on arrival which were very nice. Loos and showers very clean, not many showers, but it wasn't high season so no problem. Pool small but again very clean and my kids really enjoyed the slide. Outside pool too cold to use, as weather not great. Loads of play areas and space to roam. Boating lake great fun, also we paid for trampolining. I liked the fact that there was play equipment in each field, so kids could go off without adult supervision yet we could see them. Cute ducks roaming around too provided great amusement. We went to the kids entertainment on saturday night, games, dancing the usual which my kids always love. All in all a well run, clean park. Oh and despite torrential rain the pitch didn't get boggy. We went on a special weekend rate, could arrive 12pm fri and didn't have to leave until 5pm sunday

"For a recent friends birthday we thought it would be"
01-Aug-2010
For a recent friends birthday we thought it would be fun to go camping as a group. There were 5 families equalling 9 adults and 11 children. The kids ranged from 18mths to 6 years so entertaining them was key.
We chose this campsite last minute (after a booking confusion) and we couldn't seem to get in anywhere else due to the busy holiday period. (Late July).
As we were many in number we were placed quite a way from the main reception, swimming pools, shop and bar, which with so many young children suited us perfectly. We had the run of a large field and the kids had great fun running around and becoming somewhat feral!
We could light a fire and had a BBQ and see the fields and hills in the distance. The showers were clean as were the loos.
We didn't go to any of the entertainment but there was a fantastic boating lake (a shame it wasn't better supervised as some parents believed it a safe place for their children to be unsupervised) which the children enjoyed with us.
Over all a fab weekend, if you have young children go swimming early as it gets busy and boisterous and ask to be in the upper field for a bit of space and peace.Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.
