"A nice rural campsite that is also close to lots"
09-Sep-2010
A nice rural campsite that is also close to lots of attractions of Northumberland. Bamburgh and Alnwick Castle are within half an hour as are many lovely beaches.
The campsite is only 5 mins walk from the small town of Wooler which has a small Co-op supermarket, a few pubs, a post office and a couple of take-aways.
The site has reasonable facilities including a nice shower block with plenty of hot water. The children's play area is just a couple of swings and a slide but could keep small ones amused for a short time. We had electric hook-up and at May bank holiday this cost £16 per night for our 6 person tent which was good value. We booked by phone and paid a £25 deposit by cheque.
We didn't really spend a lot of time at the campsite as we were out exploring the area most of the time and found lots of interesting places to visit.Read moreLessMumsnetter Wiggletastic
