"Overpriced and chaotic…"
26-Jun-2012
We visited for a weekend after reading rave reviews, and although the site was very beautiful it was incredibly busy, had poor toilet and shower facilities, no hot water for washing dishes, a single track road that was practically impassable in wet weather and made worse by the amount of traffic.
Also there were no rules, which I thought would be a good thing as it allowed us to have a campfire, but it also meant that there were large groups of rowdy campers, and more concerning, Chinese lanterns floating perilously close to our tent.
The beach is lovely, but shingle and down some steep steps, which is difficult with babies and toddlers. The coastal walk is treacherous in wet weather.
It is beautiful, but the facilities are so poor that it is basically wild camping at a very high price. This was the most expensive place we have camped and the most disappointing. There was lots of space, but much of the site is on a slant and there were so many people there that it didn't feel spacous and what meagrely facilities there were were very busy. 45 minute wait for a semi warm shower anyone?Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

Best camping trip - will def book again next year. Plenty of space, so no need to pitch too near to anyone else, straw bales to sit on, open fires etc. Next to beach a bonus!

Been here twice now - it's the best campsite I have ever been to, perfect views, great location, no marked pitches and so much space that children can just run around without annoying anyone.
It is very windy but then the views are worth it - just praying for a hot summer this year!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

Lovely campsite, lots of space, great solar showers. Lots to do in the local area.
We didn't like the way it doubled in price for the weekend though.Read moreLessMumsnetter Fennel

Lovely camp site. Very family friendly and environmentally friendly. Own organic shop on site and a pizza van etc.
Lots of animals for kids to look at/play with. Great access to shingle beach. Very close to Weymouth, Poole and lots of attractions including Monkey World (a personal favourite!).
Fairly vibrant at night with lots of fires and chinese lanterns- not too noisy though. Access is tricky- you need to be a confident driver and it is blustery as it is on a cliff top.
I would thoroughly recommend.Read moreLessMumsnetter battherat

Laid back, family-tastic, beautiful site. Big but still very chilled. Great for large groups. Has own beach... we hardly left the site in a week!

What a super campsite. Only open one month a year, this campsite is on a farm with a private beach. There are unmarked pitchs - but HEAPS of room. Each field has hay bales for children to climb on as well as a tractor which wil deliver a bale to your tent! There are camp fires, a pizza cabin, solare showers....just brilliant! (NB scary steep drive down to site in rain!)
