Dawlish Sands

The site is now one of 3 owned by Park holidays but think they cant have taken this one over very long as the facilities were basic and a bit tatty. Our caravan was the basic one but was quite shabby with curtains falling off their hooks, no freezer capacity in the rickety fridge and an unkempt air about it, which is not the usual basic standard for the bronze caravans. Club was VERY pricy for soft drinks- over £8 for 2 small drink cokes and 2 kids 300ml Fruit shoot drinks! Ouch!! Good entertainment for such a small club. Pool had a basic indoor area, which the kids enjoyed. However, the outside pool was shut for 4 out of our 5 days as it was FILTHY- bird feathers and cigarette butts strewn in it, despite it being mid June (so not out of season) and the temperature in the mid/late 20s so ppl wanted to sit on the loungers and watch their kids in the pool! Overall, child friendly as mostly families and a quiet place. Site is in Dawlish Warren which is great for touristy facilities (shops/novelties/takeaways/pubs), frequent bus access to other areas and small beach nearby so easy if you arent in your own car.
