Callow Top

Good site with plenty of room to pitch tents and for children to play. Everything you need - large shop,outdoor swimming pool (baby pool and main pool), games room, pub and bar/snack restaurant. Showers are coin-operated and unisex with queuing outside for each cubicle. Not much fun in the rain but once you get in they are warm and good but not so clean if you don't go immediately after cleaning. However need to go in to toilets when you want to brush teeth/use hair dryer.

20mins - Half hour walk in to Ashbourne (depending on size of legs!). But we couldn't find much for children in Ashbourne.

Head north to DoveDale instead. Good walk with lots for children to spot and activity sheet from NT. Bring a picnic, though because no pub/restaurant at end of route!

Only problems about site are that the shower/toilet blocks seem to be closed for cleaning at peak times. Also, we thought that there are too many unaccompanied children on bicycles. We were nearly knocked over a few times with them. And the bigger children took over the playground.

Fantastic site! Own pub with own brewery (kids disco at the weekend), Children's play area, swimming pool, shop, hot showers. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but Ashbourne is just down the road. Perfect family site with reasonable prices.
