I had a really upsetting experience here. I liked it while we were there but a couple of days after we left they wrote to us and said we had vandalized their bus (we stayed in the bus). They said we had thrown food all over and drawn on the walls with felt tips and various other horrible things. They said in the letter they hadn't had a booking that night but when they went in the next day to clean up they saw what we had done ... I was so upset - I would NEVER do this and it seemed obvious that some-one must have broken in the night we left ( they don't lock the bus), But I wrote them a few upset letters and they just ignored them - the injustice of it really stung. When I told my husband he pointed out that the caretakers who live in a caravan opposite the tent had been watching us while I insisted on wiping down the barbecue and taking all the ash out and they had been giggling to each other. He figured they thought I was a bit neurotic about the cleaning and the whole thing was a big wind-up. I am a bit fussy about leaving places tidy and I know it's probably a bit dumb to leave the barbecue clean but I love it when I arrive and it's not full of ash. I also thought it was really malicious of them to have done this. Staying in the bus isn't cheap and also it was putting our trust in them. I'd never go there again.

Just didn't like this campsite as it is so dark and claustrophobic. The shower was cold and the facilities were dirty. I'm all for simple, no fuss camping but I think this campsite is over priced and over rated.

This is my fave campsite ever! We prefer a campsite with no frills, a fire is a must and this is one of the few campsites you can have an open fire. Pitches are secluded in your own gladem so you're not on top of each other. Showers and toilets nice and clean, owners welcoming and accomodating and enough facilities to make you comfortable.
