"Very small but nice for a quick bit of R&R…"
I visited this hotel as part of a very good value Time Out offer package that included a couple of hours in the spa and then afternoon tea for £19 per person. The spa area is tiny (especially the pool, which is so miniscule it has a current you have to swim against as lengths are out of the question!) and pretty basic, but in good condition, and as it's mainly used by hotel guests, not crowded at all when we were there on a Monday morning. There's a couple of those lovely heated curved stone beds, and a nice little relaxation area (but bring your own magazines as their selection left much to be desired!) Although towels are provided, robes and slippers aren't, which is a bit mean. There's also no clock, which made it a bit tricky for us as our afternoon tea was booked for a certain time. Main gripe was the state of the changing rooms - hair all over the floor (remember no slippers!) and the plug-holes in the showers clearly needed unblocking as they didn't drain properly, leaving you up to your ankles in shampoo-ey water: not the most relaxing end to a spa session! We didn't have any treatments but rooms for these did look nice.Read moreLess
