"We stayed here for one child free night when I"
14-Jun-2011
We stayed here for one child free night when I was 7 months pregnant. We were given a beautiful room in the lovely old building. The food was really excellent too - I had a wonderful steak in the stylish dining room.
My husband had booked two treatments for me as part of the pregnant mother package. I have to say, I don't think they accommodated my bump very well in the spa. The treatment rooms are incredibly small, and my therapist was pregnant too, so there wasn't much room! Both the massage and the facial required me to lie flat on my back on a high treatment table, where I felt pretty uncomfortable. I have had other pregnancy massages where they bring in hundreds of cushions, props and a chair and give you lots of options so you can be comfortable, but not here. The massage itself was limp, and again, I know that in pregnancy, you can still have some pressure applied to eg. shoulders, if not abdomen or lower back.
Not sure if we would go back, I felt a bit too much like a number in the spa, and my needs were not discussed enough to make it worth the price-tag.Read moreLessMumsnetter deliakate

Hehe, my friend's family used to own the hotel (was a home then!) and still own the land! It is luxurious, the beauty treatments that I used were good, but for me not so great an experience I guess as we saw it as a home first!!! It is the only spa hotel I have been to, and I enjoyed the facial that I had, would have liked more but we were whizzing through! Lovely grounds, the estate is well kept and has a relaxing atmospere.

Luxurious and a really lovely place. The spa was clean, the changing rooms spotless and the staff helpful. The treatments were exactly as they advertised and they try and time treatments at the same time as any friends in your group. They offer a wide range of different treatments so there is something for everyone. There is also a gym section too if you feel like you want to be a bit energetic at all. My only negative about the spa day I did there is that the lunch is not all that substantial - portion sizes are a bit on the small side.
I haven't stayed overnight myself, but I know they do packages including accommodation. From friends who have stayed there I believe this is to the same high standards as the hotelRead moreLessMumsnetter beautifulgirls
