"Fab spa and sport spot…"
05-Oct-2012
We had a wonderful weekend at Ragdale Hall, a glam spa hotel near Leicester. The spa facilities were fabulous: a proper 25m swimming pool, jacuzzi, all kinds of steam rooms and saunas and a fun outdoor pool with waterfalls and bubbles. There was a gym, tennis courts, and an aquagym - and I dragged my partner along to a 9am step class which tired even him out! Staff were friendly and helpful. The face scrub was great for my partner's bad eczema, and the massages were to die for. Our bedroom was spotless, comfortable and luxurious - with a TV, an enormous bath and sophisticated shower, and a divine double bed. The only thing which was lacking was the food - all very health-conscious and small portions (although there was an indulgent cafe where they served choc cake and delicious cocktails). Freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely wine was a bonus! Would be great for health-conscious couples or group of friends - the most relaxing, sporty weekend I've had in a long time!

Lovely swimmming pool and spa facilities. Excellent food, but bedrooms very shabby, compared to most hotels out there. Doesn't match the facilities outside the room. Our bathroom had carpet with stains on. Yuk. Most hotels these days dont have carpet in bathrooms, for hygiene reasons. Gave feedback to manager, but unsure if improved since November 2008 when we stayed for 2 days.

I went here for a girly weekend and generally it was great. Facilities were very good, treatments expensive but good` for a treat, food was lovely but the rooms are getting a bit worn and shabby in places.

I went with my best friend. We had a very relaxing girls day together. The treatments were excellent, it was all very clean, and food was lovely. Some of it was quite expensive so would not visit regularly but nice as a treat.

The food lovely, the spa and pool very relaxing and the room fine but maybe they should be next on the refurb list as the rest of the building is so attractive. Had an poor pedicure but fabulous facial, reflexology and massage. Dh went with me (he had a v gd Swedish massage); there were couples there but it's more a girls/hen venue imo. Dh and I played croquet, went for a bike ride and swam in both the indoor and outdoor pools.

Ragdale Hall is the ultimate haven for relaxation. You can wander round in fluffy white dressing gowns - reading, sleeping, eating, getting massaged or even doing something more active like swimming or tennis. The food is very good and certainly plenty of choice. Highly recommnended.

A comfy old stately in a picturesque setting that's a good place for a spa break. The treatments were fab as is the fancy new pool area with all sorts of exciting water related experiences on offer. The bedrooms are a bit dated but comfortable enough and the food is surprisingly good. All very relaxed and friendly - would recommend it for a hen party or a break from the kids

10-Dec-2007
One of the older spas on the scene, but now with a swish new all singing, all dancing pool area added, including saunas, herbal steam room, volcanic experience showers (different smells at the touch of a button!), a candlelit bath experience, and an inside/outside bubble jet stream. The rooms themselves are old Hall style rather than modern or boutique, which may or may not be your thing. One of my treatments, which were lovely, felt a bit hard sell on the products, which made me wonder whether the therapists were on commission. However, this was not my friend's experience at all. You can buy anything you try, and the staff are very accommodating. Food very good. This is strictly a grown up place - no children, no mobiles outside your own bedroom, both sexes welcome.
