"Ideal for family groups with kids of all ages & a steam train!…"
We have just spent a fantastic week at The Hyde over half term. It sleeps 20 so it was a reunion for four families so children everywhere. The Hyde is set on its own in the middle of a beautiful estate where we couldn't see another house or hear a car. The house is really comfortable and gorgeously decorated (even better than it looks on the website), and although it is really old (built in 1320!) it has every mod con. There was masses for the children (and parents) to do from a wendy house and tennis court, to the provided bikes to the mini-maze in the garden.
However, the highlight for our Thomas-mad children was the narrow gauge steam train which runs around the farm. It isn't open to the public, but can be booked for private rides by Hyde guests. We had lots of walk and interesting trips in the area which none of us knew well before. They can organise a cook and organise home-made ready meal deliveries - wonderful not to have to cook all the time. Also delicious hamper of goodies on arrival.
Everyone has the best time as well as lots of R&R. Maybe not the cheapest option, but definitely the best we have been to for large family groups.Read moreLess
