West Bay Club

We have stayed at the West Bay 3 times and although it is slightly pricey the accommodation is to a high standard and the country club is lovely. The only real downside is the location which is on the quieter side of the Island and away from the main attractions and supermarkets etc. As a result you can spens quite a lot of time in the car if you want to get out and about.

I would mark it higher but our last visit was slightly marred by a number of issues that may mean we dont return.

Firstly, we were allocated a bungalow on the road which would have made it impossible to allow the children to play outside without one of us adults accompanying them - make sure you ask for accommodation on one of the greens.

Secondly, the management of the country club had declined so that relatively young children were allowed in the pool unaccompanied by adults (who mainly sat in the restaurant on their I-Phones/I-Pads/Laptops) and this meant that it could get quite stressful as an adult in the pool supervising your own children appropriately.

Finally our accommodation had a number of issues which meant that maintenance had to visit three times to resolve things. they were very nice and helpful but this was a tad annoying. Eg. On one occasion the bungalow had to be left without the patio door on for the morning so we had to repack all our valuables in the car for the day. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience this caused.

A lovely selection of cottages, in New England style, on a spacious holiday complex within walking distance of Yarmouth. The cottage was decorated and furnished to a high standard and extremely clean. Use of sports facilities, gym, pool, tennis courts all included in price. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
