"Excellent break with young children…"
Visited Waterside for 7 days last summer(first week of school summer holidays)and considering going back this year. Cannot fault the park actually. Staff were great - helpful and friendly. Mobile home was spotless (white area - nice and close to facilities) Facilities excellent.
Location fantastic - never been to Weymouth before and I will be back. The outdoor play area is a good size for children (mine are 3 and 6) with only one entrance/exit. Its right next to the Spar - which is good for the basics. The indoor soft play area was very nice - bit dark but the kids didn't seem to mind. You do pay to use the cash machine - I'd buy a drink and get cashback if I were you. The arcade area is a good size and the kids enjoyed themselves. Drinks not too pricey. Neither is food. Its not a bargain by any means, but its fine. They aren't particularly 'accurate' when pouring cocktails - so if you want a good deal try those
Tried both the Waterside chippy and the Bowleaze cove one - both much of a muchness - bit greasy but nice cod. Pool areas are lovely but found the chlorine very strong so kept it to 40 minute 'sessions'. Outdoor pool like a bath - very warm. Didn't try the spa but imagine its a good standard like the rest of the site. Laundrette nice and clean but only 3 washers and 3 driers. Wash will cost £4 and to dry a load is £1 for 20 mins. I asked for a new tin opener at reception and it was there within the hour. We had an 'elegance' caravan with a patio - compact but nice.
I found for me that the sofa bed was more comfortable than the double or the twins (which are very small and soft - no good for a tall/bit adult - just about long enough for me at 5'5") Spotless appliances. Bring a fan if its hot. Also bring blackouts if your kids aren't good sleepers - I just use bulldog clips to attach blackout fabric.
Clothes rail (for towels) is small so again bring your own if necessary. We didn't go to the restaurant and only went to the entertainment twice but my youngest enjoyed the magic show. I can manage without! We found it to be pretty quiet at night. Overall I would recommend it thoroughly.Read moreLess

Excellent Site mainly Caravan but it does have a camping area too. There is something for everyone.
A nice clean caravan site. The reception area is open until 10 pm and will sort any problem and query you may have. (for example we came back from a day out at 9.30pm Turned on a light it flashed and blew the fuse but someone was there before 9.45 to sort it!)
They don't do child care but do have children's entertainment as well as more grown up entertainment which varies from night to night. One night it may be a comedy act, the next a Tribute band or a magician. There are nightly bingo games for cash prizes, race nights and games all designed to keep you entertained and having fun.
The site has swimming pools, A gym, A Spa, an amusement area, soft play and an large outside play area.
All this is included in the price.
There are two bars, some take-away service areas(pizza and fish and chips) and a restaurant.
There is a regular Bus service every 20 minutes into Weymouth town centre but it is near enough to walk if you prefer. In 2010 the fare was onlyRead moreLess
