Stayed here for an October half term midweek ( Monday - Friday ) break .
Beautifully clean and well equipped cottage , all on one floor , a double room with ensuite shower room and a twin room with bathroom .
A small indoor pool and gym , restaurant was ok , could have been better . Good selection of DVDs to borrow free of charge .
Helpful receptionists .
A good base for our first trip to Cornwall .
When teenage son ( who wanted to stay home alone ) says the holiday was ' alright ' you know it was good !Read moreLessMumsnetter Doilooklikeatourist

We stayed here for 10 days in the summer of 2010 and are going back again this summer. We stayed in the smallest 2 bedroom cottage but found it very spacious. The furniture and fittings are comfortable and of a high standard and the kitchen is VERY well equipped. Not many places have cookery books, scales and rolling pins! We picked some blackberries on the site and knocked up a crumble.
The pools and small gym are clean and we were often the only ones in there. The food in the restaurant is excellent and just round the corner is a pool table and outdoor play area, so the kids are entertained between courses. We found it very relaxing and ideally located for the surf beaches to the north and the gentle, sandy beaches in the south. Can't wait to go back.Read moreLessMumsnetter Hevs

We loved it at the Valley, we went down for feb half term and found it the most relaxing break ever. Obviously the weather is unlikely to be very good at that time of year but we had some great bright sunny days perfect for a bracing walk on the beach in our wellies
The cottage accomodation was comfortable and very well equipped
We didn't eat at the restaurant but enjoyed popping in for drinks a few times
My daughter aged 11 was happy with the pool, although it's small it wasn't crowded
We liked being able to visit lots of places very easily, nearest beaches about 20 mins drive, Truro great for shopping and Falmouth for the maritime museum and cornish pasties
Some lovely family friendly pubs are nearby, my absolute favourite is the Pandora InnRead moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"We are just back from a week at the Valley…"

We are just back from a week at the Valley and it was excellent. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully appointed (quiet washing machine and no mouldy bathscreens) and the electronic gates into the site made it feel very secure.
It was a great place to explore Cornwall from and we'd definitely return there.Read moreLessMumsnetter Sbeanmum

"We chose The Valley because its location is handy for…"

We chose The Valley because its location is handy for exploring Cornwall and it looked like luxury accommodation with the bonus of having meals delivered to your lodge.
It certainly hit the mark on location - everywhere is easy driving distance, but there is nothing really in the immediate vicinity and the pool and play area are rather small. The jacuzzi wasn't working and you also have to pay to use the facilities in the games room.
The meals were of a very high standard and the restaurant staff were very accommodating.
The accommodation is billed as 5*, but it is sometimes a case of style over substance. The Villeroy and Boch fittings and soft-close toilet seats don't make up for broken floor tiles and mouldy bath screens. The washing machine was incredibly noisy and without constantly firing up the immersion heater you would easily run out of hot water.
The staff were however very welcoming and friendly.
I would say that as a base for exploring Cornwall with young children who don't expect much to entertain them, this is an ok place to stay. The big bonus was having lovely food to take-away to our lodge. But it is in need of a bit of renovation and then it might justify more than 3*.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

We loved it here, the cottages are modern and quite luxurious and the setting is gorgeous. It's perfect for young children as is totally private and has restaurant and pools on site.
The location means you can visit north or south coasts of Cornwall easily, fab beaches are only a short drive away.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.
