"I have just come back from a weekend break here…"
I have just come back from a weekend break here today, with DH and DS (21months). We had a fab time! The Argyll site is new - only been open since July, so everything was on tip top condition. We stayed in a 2 bedroom silver birch cabin, really nice - it had a bathroom, with a bath which had a shower over, the master bedroom had an ensuite shower room as well. The kitchen was well equipped with dual fuel cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box and dishwater. There is a launderette on site. The cabin was very spacious and open, and very warm with the underfloor heating. We also had a hot tub as well which was fab - though we only used it the one night as it rained quite hard the other nights!
The cabins where situated a stone's throw away from Loch Long, and there are many forest walks close by. There is a little shop where you can buy basic (and ridiculously expensive) supplies, but there is also a local shop in Arrochar itself, plus large supermarkets 30 mins away.
Going further afield, there is the usual spectacular scenery, including Puck's Glen, which is on the way out to Dunoon and well worth a visit.
On site there are activities which are mainly organised walks, and craft activities for kids aged 4-10 (we didn't do any of these as DS is too young).
Main complaint is that the website said the Cabins had a DVD player in them and there wasn't, just a TV with lots of channel and pay per view films (and a pretty poor selection!). Very annoying as we brought a stack of DVDs to watch after we put the small one to bed!
With the silver birch, we brought our own towels (if we had the golden oak we would have been supplied with towels) or we could have hired some forRead moreLess
