"5 Star & more, amazing cottage complex…"
07-Feb-2013
We have been going to Clydey for the last 3 years & wouldn't dream of going anywhere else in Wales. Once you go here nowhere else will ever be good enough. Clydey is a cluster of 10 beautiful cottages ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms in the most beautiful part of West Wales. There is a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, games room, soft play & toys for little ones who can play safe whilst mum or dad enjoy a complimentary hot drink on a comfy sofa with magazines, free wi-Fi or TV. There is complimentary DVD & games library, laundry facilities & a freezer full of 'Cook' home made meals to purchase
My favourite place however is the outdoor hot tub, which overlooking the beautiful welsh hills is quite literally heaven on earth. There is daily animal feeding & egg collecting with farmer Malcolm which the kids absolutely love, the feeding ends at the outdoor play area. I have never read a single negative review about this place & the fact that the lovely owners Jacqui & Dewi have so many repeat customers is testament to this. They work really hard to maintain & improve the complex & deserve every award they receive. Having children of there own they are very much tuned in to the needs of families with young children in tow. Trust me, go there, you won't be disappointed. It may seem expensive but it's worth every single penny. Oh, also if you can bear to leave the cottages, there are some excellent beaches nearby & also folly farm & oakwood a pleasant drive awayRead moreLessMumsnetter abbey1136

We had a wonderful time with a 3 year old and a 15 month old. They were really helpful and friendly and could not do enough to help us with enquiries about the property or what to visit locally. The facilities were fantastic - suitable for rainly days (which of course you get in west wales) and sunshine too. The children loved feeding the farm animals each days and our 3 year old keeps asking when he can return. Toasty woodburners and lots of DVDs to keep parents happy to in the evening!

We have just returned from Clydey cottages. We only stayed a short while but had a fantastic time. The cottages themselves are lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. The facilities are great with a lovely swimming pool, soft play area and outdoor play area as as well as the animals. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone who wants a country cottage stay with small children.

We stayed here with our 18 month old son and had a fantastic time. We loved the beaches nearby and the cottages were of an excellent standard. Great facilities onsite. Highly recommended although take plenty of provisions as no local shops nearby.

"Clydey is situated somewhere, where - I couldn't tell you,…"

Clydey is situated somewhere, where - I couldn't tell you, even the satnav couldn't tell you describing the road leading to it as "road". But that is just the first thing that makes this cottage getaway so great.
We had a fantastic week with our 18mo son, the highlights were everything - the heated indoor swimming pool with woggles, floats and pool toys provided, the small but lovely sauna next to the pool, the games room, the soft play area which was so nice to have something dedicated to little children and comfty couches for mum and dad to relax, the outside hottub for a grown up dip (although kids are allowed in during school holidays) and best of all the daily animal feeding and egg collecting.
We stayed in Lavender Cottage which was small but adequate for the three of us, the bedroom was a decent size even with the cot in. Good power shower and a nice bath. Shared BBQ's are available to use outside your cottage. Lots of other facilities including - washing machines/dryers, frozen meals from COOK, free eggs, toddler carrying backpacks, ride on toys, sand pit, playground. I'm sure I've forgotted other things as well.
Local beaches of Poppit Sands and Mwnt are stunning - couldn't believe we were in the UK, especially when we saw dolphins swimming in the bay at Mwnt.
Lovely restaurant about 40 mins drive away, Y Polyn, and you can book babysitters although it is expensive atRead moreLessMumsnetter ChocOrange05

These cottages are excellent. The facilities are the best, there's a beautiful indoor pool, a sauna, a games room, a gym, a soft play room and the setting is fantastic. There are acres of land for the kids to play with a small outdoor play area and every morning there's an opportunity for the children to feed the farm animals. We had an absolutely wonderful time.
