"Perfect for all the family - it really is as lovely as it looks!…"
23-Sep-2012
This is the most perfect place we have found to go on holiday in France.
Where we go on holiday really matters to us, and poor Heather must have thought we would be the most difficult guests ever before we arrived, I was so searching in my inquiries. We have in the past been to several very mis-described gites, and suffered from floods, a 'forgotten' main road and some very interesting plumbing!
La Cabane is so perfect for us that in spite of saying that we never go back, we have 4 times in 3 years.
It is exactly what you hope for - lots of lovely things for everyone, of all ages to do. This has included my elderly father and our largish teenagers. There is so much space that they can feel free, whilst being very safe. I feel better just by remembering being there.
There is lots to do in the area and Cognac is a beautiful place to explore.
Heather and Philip are incredibly helpful - and are there for as much or as little as you need them.
I am only worried that there will be so many bookings we won't every be able to come back!Read moreLessMumsnetter EHettyT

"Perfect holiday for young families with children or anyone wanting to get away from it all!…"
04-Sep-2012
Well, we are just back from our second trip to Logis La Cabane so that tells you how much we enjoyed it the first time!
It really is the perfect holiday for families with children or anyone just wanting to get away from it all! The surroundings are beautiful, you can't help but relax. The owners Heather and Philip are very welcoming too and a great source of knowledge when it comes to where to go and what to do in the area!
There is lots to do for the children and our two (aged 7 and 9) particularly loved the adventure and freedom of exploring the pretty grounds. The swimming pool was a highlight for us all too - surrounded by lavender, sunflowers, fig trees and the like - so relaxing!!
We have all come back refreshed and relaxed from both our holidays to this idyllic place. We really can't recommend it more highly.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"Highly recommended - we'll be back!…"
27-Aug-2012
Just back from a great week here with our 9 month and 22 month old kiddlies; the kind of location photographed in French travel guides - magnificent ancient building, painted shutters, lavender, Citroen van in the corner etc. Beautiful and safe pool, masses of outdoor playstuff too: swings, playhouse, trampoline, big sandpit (this last item really made our babies happy). Cots/gates/highchairs all provided in our gite; we stayed in the smallest - simple but had everything including washing machine. Very helpful and friendly (but discreet) hosts too.

"Brilliant holiday with our 15 month old!…"
15-Aug-2012
We have had a fabulous stay at Logis La Cabane with our 15 month old, with lots of extras for our little boy to make our stay relaxing (toddler toys, high chair, child gate all provided). There was also an excellent play area with sandpit and outdoor toys as well as the swings and slide in the meadow. The pool was ideal with shadey spots as well to stay out of the sun when needed.
Many thanks to our lovely hosts Heather and Philip, we will be coming back in the future!Read moreLessMumsnetter hth123

"Family Friendly, excellent accommodation and relaxing!…"
13-Aug-2012
The first time we have been to Logis La Cabane but what a superb experience. Would highly recommend this place, swings, trampoline and a large garden for children to play as well as a fantastic pool which is cleaned everyday. All of the gites have been renovated by English owners Heather and Philip who are fantastic hosts and make you feel very welcome. The accomodation is superb and very child friendly. Their are lots of things to explore and do in the area some of which we did not get to do but we loved La Cabane so much we have already booked for next year!

"A safe and relaxing location for a great family holiday !…"

Our second visit to La Cabane and our first with our little one! A superb place to relax and enjoy the child friendly facilities. Heather and Philip are very welcoming and the gites have everything you could possibly need. When you turn into the courtyard and see La Cabane with all its rustic charm, beautiful pool and tranquil setting you know you've made the right holiday choice! Lots to do in the area but also great to just enjoy everything available at the gites. We will definitely go back again!

"Fantastic & relaxing holiday…"
31-Jul-2012
Have just spent a week in a lovely, comfortable gite which was very well equipped. Lots to do for my teenage children including beautiful, clean swimming pool, bikes to borrow, table tennis & trampoline. Plus plenty for younger children. Super area to visit & not far from the coast.

"Blissfully relaxing for all the family…"
06-Jul-2012
We have stayed here a couple of times in the Summer and are looking forward to returning soon. Quite simply, we can't think of a more successful place to go with our three children. The house and grounds are beautiful and the English owners really seem to care about how everything looks. There's fantastic planting, gorgeous paint colours and masses of space for kids to roam safely with lots of play things, table tennis, free bikes, trampoline etc, but it's all done incredibly tastefully and seems so uncontrived. Each gite (we've stayed in two different ones) has it's own little garden area giving a feeling of privacy but you get the chance to mingle if you want around the pool - it's stunning and a real sun trap with lots of Mediterranean plants and fig trees etc around it. Last time we went our kids were able to really enjoy it more and it was the most relaxing time we've had since pre-children! The nearby town of Cognac is very pretty and we've done some really good day trips to the coast, the aquarium at La Rochelle etc so there's lots to see and do locally. Can't wait to go back and experience the warm welcome again. I can feel myself destressing just thinking about it!

"Great place for both parents and kids.…"
11-Jun-2012
Staying at the Logis La Cabane is as easy as being at home but in a beautiful restfull and fun environment. The owners have thought of everything so you don't have to, highchairs, stair gates, toilet seats, childrens plates and cutlery, sand pit, outside toys and even a toy box inside and if the weather turns bad there is freeview and Mr Tumble can be found. For the older kids there is plenty to do with a large trampoline, table tennis, bikes and of course a beautiful pool with plenty of inflatables. There is also stuff for the grown ups and not just the cheap wine, there are plenty of books to read in the comfort of your own private outside sapce.
