"My family and I had a truly magical week at…"
My family and I had a truly magical week at Ty Bois in summer 2010. The house is a quirky delight, lovely and clean, and very well equipped with pretty much everything you would need for a self-catering break. The pool and boules court were great extras and provided many an afternoon's entertainment. However what really made the week special was the amazing location of the house situated in acres of lovely Brittany woodland. Our 2 boys (aged 5 and 10) had a fantastic time exploring, building dens, playing on rope swings and generally doing all the things that 'city kids' don't often get the chance to do. We also really appreciated the support of Sue & Pete - great advice, lovely friendly greeting - particularly helpful with our initial electricity 'blip'! Whilst the highlight of the holiday was definitely the house and woods, we did manage to enjoy some of what the area has to offer as well. Carnac was a great day out (very lucky with the weather) - beach great for kids (beautiful sand, clean, not too busy, pedaloes etc), town of Carnac La Plage offers usual resort stuff including an amazing ice-cream shop and of course, the megaliths provide a bit of culture and history. Also loved the town of Vannes - very pretty, some lovely shops and creperies - and the market at Pontivy was small but well stocked with delicious local fruit, veg and other delights. All in all, a great first French break for us all - would thoroughly recommend Ty Bois - particularly families with young children. See www.frenchhideaway.net for more information.Read moreLess
