Le Chant d'Oiseau

We have stayed here twice in one of the gites, once in October and then two weeks in the summer. Very well equiped gites, with everything you need for self catering. On arrival you are greeted by Stu and Syb, an English couple who live in the main property and who are incredibly helpful. If there is anything you need they will help (this is actually quite reassuring if the children were to be ill etc). The gites are on a ten pitch campsite which means there are other children to play with. There is a small play area in the middle of the campsite which is in full view of the gites so is ideal to give your children a sense of freedom. The site is gated so is perfectly safe. At busy times there are pizza evenings etc which are great as our children could join in but without the formality and stresses of eating in a resturant while we had a drink.
It is very rural but we like that. Cycling is excellent in the area. Saumur is close by as is Chinon with its brilliant castle. We had lots of picnics, chateau visits and just lazing around. The children completed a jigsaw and met some lovely friends.
