"We stayed at the "luxury villa" for a week over…"
01-Jan-2010
We stayed at the "luxury villa" for a week over Christmas. We generally had a good time but weren't so sure about whether the villa was particularly family friendly accommodation. Good points: Eco credentials, spacious and nicely decorated house, friendly owners, chickens to collect eggs from, donkey to ride, trampoline, great beach within 5 min walk, lovely unspoilt area, nice town nearby. Bad points: lots of flies in the house, especially the kitchen (this may just be the case for all houses in Lanzarote - I don't know), only 2 bedrooms, house is dark at night due to limited lighting (understandably, but it meant that after sunset, doing anything in the house with DCs was difficult), can't flush loo paper down toilet (totally understandable but was very tricky for small DC), only a breakfast bar to eat at in the house with high stools unsuitable for small DCs (dining table is outside), swimming pool too deep for small DCs.

"We stayed in the Eco Yurt at the Finca de…"
16-Sep-2009
We stayed in the Eco Yurt at the Finca de Arrieta and it really suited our needs. We wanted to be away from the big hotels/resorts, in a child-friendly atmosphere and a place that reminded us of our many stays in boutique hotels before our son was born. Very child-friendly, animals (cats, dog, chickens, donkey), small playground, trampoline, pool. Lots of space to run around. However, a little too far to the beach and maintenace was an issue during our stay.
