"Its is very rare that absolute five star luxury goes"
07-Jun-2011
Its is very rare that absolute five star luxury goes hand in hand with an absolutely family friendly holiday, but the Mina A Saleem just does that.
I am by my own admission very high maintenance but I couldn't fault this hotel
Its five stars are well rewarded, our room was just amazing, really large with a huge bed and massive bathroom.
The service throughout the hotel was impeccable, the staff are really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. For example, at the pool and by the beach they offer free ice pops and mist spray just in case you are getting too hot ! On the beach there are loads of watersports on offer if sunbathing isn't your thing
The restaurants are great with a brilliant selection and great options for children
However the main recommendation is the fantastic amount facilities for children. There is a dedicated family pool with what seems like hundreds of life guards keeping everyone safe. Whilst we were there they were building a climbing wall and planning to open a kids only gym.
Then there is an amazing kids club with everything you can imagine to keep them happy as well as a big shaded play area with water fountains and sand area.
So whilst the children play happily in kids club you can relax in the fabulous spa or if you're feeling energetic work out in the state of the art gym
Also staying here gives you free access to Wild Wadi water park which is just a short walk away along the beach.
We did tear ourselves away and went shopping. The Dubai Mall is incredible with every shopping chain on earth. For the kids there is Sega republic, KidsZania and an Aquarium.
While you are there taking some time out and visit the Jumeriah Mosque and also the Cultural centre. Both hope to give visitors to Dubai an understanding of both Islam and the culture and traditions of Dubai
The other thing we did whilst we stayed there was the Desert Safari - can't tell you how much I would recommend this. Who knew sand could be so much fun ?Read moreLessMumsnetter JenniferMumsnet
