"We stayed for a week inside Jasper National park at"
26-Oct-2011
We stayed for a week inside Jasper National park at Jasper Park Lodge in the Canadian Rockies. It was fantastic, especially its connection with history. It reminded me of Victoria Falls Hotel or Ngorongoro Crater Lodge as the service was beyond any expectations, and above the majority of places anywhere!
The location is within woods by Lac Beauvart, you could just spend hours looking at the emerald turquoise colour changing in the lake. But there is so much to do in Jasper - the gazing at water moments are from a canoe that you can hire from the hotel, or when walking the trail round the lake, or mountain biking. I would recommend this National Park and Lodge to anyone who is interested in wildlife, nature photography, geography or history. Jasper itself is just a stone's throw away and all the people were so friendly, beyond any of our expectations. Later we were told that all the residents have received training to welcome visitors.
The breakfast and meals at Jasper Park Lodge were fantastic, my children tucked in happily from the fantastic choice. The waiters and waitresses were extremely polite. When my son picked a glass for his juice at breakfast and I noticed the edge was rough the waitress immediately apologised and we even had the restaurant manager to come and apologise.
The biggest problem is that kids wanted to stay forever and loved spotting wildlife like a coyote and deer on the hotel grounds. It was sad to leave and can't wait to go there again.Read moreLessMumsnetter timoteigirl
