"African Dream for All!…"
I hate camping. But I love Namibia. We lived there for 4 yrs and after being back in the UK for several years, we recently returned to try and find the best place to stay with a 6 yr old a 9 yr old there. Now, the journey north towards Etosha is a big road trip for small kids. And no... I did NOT want to camp!
But I had to compromise (for once...) and steeled myself for mozzie attacks and a night of discomfort on a crappy bed. But how wrong I was... This place HAS to be the best kept secret in the north of Namibia! Not really 'tents'...more like mini-Lodges...self-catering but also delicious meals in the restaurant. The 'tents' are built in their own tiny wee corners of the compound and you have total privacy and total silence (apart from your own kids ...and those pesky lions roaring in the distance over inside the Etosha Game Park. Will somebody please ASBO them?)
This place also offers its own dawn and dusk game drives and the main attraction - Etosha safari itself is just 10 mins away. Customer service was superb and you didn't need any other manufactured 'kiddy activities' when you had a swimming pool, a hot temperature and as much land to play in all to yourself... as the size of Wales.
The kids have not stopped talking about the 'best holiday ever because you could pee on a toilet out in the open air with the breeze on your bum - but no one could see you!'Read moreLess
