"“Perfect location, good service, average rooms”…"
We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay here. This resort is small in size and has a homely feel. It is located on the beach, and the beach is ideal for young kids because shallow. The beach is kept clean and lots of beach beds to sit and can order food or drink on the beach.Read moreLess
"A fantastically peaceful, rejuvenation spa resort in a lovely Greek setting…"
What a relaxing place. The Ekies All Senses Resort (http://www.ekies.gr/) feels a little surreal it's so tasteful and calm and eco-friendly. Everywhere you look you're surrounded by white, taupe and sky blue cushioned places to flop and relax. The Ekies resort is positioned on a quiet cove in Halkidiki, which feels like an island although it's on the mainland (an hour and a bit from Thessoloniki). It consists of a collection of whitewashed designer buildings with a tented spa and a lovely saltwater pool set in pleasant grounds aside a sandy beach on the clear Aegean. There's not a jet ski in site and the clientele, which is mostly German, is as chilled as the (very good) house wine. It occurs to me that although there were lots of young children I barely heard a scream or a row all the time I was there.
The white decked restaurant is beautifully positioned overlooking the cove. The buffet breakfasts are excellent and for dinner there's a choice of a posher la carte or more simple set menu. For lunch you can wander along the beach to the local taverna (Paris) where they'll serve the fish caught that day along with classics like halloumi, greek salad and calamari and generally treat you like a Queen.
The spa is wonderful - with a wide choice of relaxing treatments - and the staff friendly (they'll arrange a yoga class if you'd like). It's a fabulous place for a revitalising visit with May half term the perfect time of year to go when it's not too hot.Read moreLess
