"Good for 6 and above, Not suitable for kids under 5 yo…"
We stayed for 2 nights with kids 2 and 5 yo in SolePad tent, the tent located about 3m from the road and we had no peace trying to keep an eye on 2 yo, running on the road, there are suppose to be one way driving system at the campsite, but there are no signs about it and people just drive both ways, it said in campsite rules that there is no nose aloud after 10pm, in our experience kids been screaming on the play ground till 12, I suppose it is ok to let your kids stay late once in the while, but ours are were to little to stay up so long, 10pm would be quite late for them, but they didn't have a chance to go sleep even then.
There is a "river" with a log "bridge" over on the playground, so we couldn't let our 5 yo to play there on her own, as it was to dangerous to leave her near deep water without supervising her all the time.
I would not recommend this campsite for kids under 5, I suppose once they big enough to keep themselves away from cars and ok to fall down into the water, then this site will be fine, it does have large play area, bar with small soft area (for kids under 5! but nobody bother to keep big once out, so if you ok with your kid being kicked and pushed by running teenagers then it is where you go for your evening drink and a bit of music - live). The bar is very nice and I would happily spend some time there listening to music if my kids were bigger and could look after themselves for 30 min
The water is supplied all over the place, so you only 10 steps away from nearest water tap, which is very good idea.
The tent we stayed in, number 2 from bottom, doesn't have even floor, so it was difficult to arrange sleeping bags without someone ending up sleeping head down.
To sum - go there if your kids 6 or older, keep looking for safer place if they are under 6.Read moreLess

"Fantastic for both couples and families…"
Stayed here in a camping pod recently for two nights. Beautiful site with gorgeous views over Ullswater. Spotless shower block with plenty of hot water. Well-stocked little shop for the essentials. Pod was warm and quiet, bliss!
Helpful map with walk suggestions. Nice pub at the bottom of the road if you don't fancy cooking!Read moreLess
"All our Family loved it…"
16 of us went to celebrate grandparents special birthday and we therefore rented both of the quiet sites cottages. They have an interlinking door which is a really good idea. Very geared up for the whole family, excellent facillities and very friendly staff. Highlights on site were the bar with its soft play room, the sunken trampoline, the playfield but most of all the area, which must rate as one of Englands best. Will return to the site but with a humble tent!Read moreLess

Stayed in one of the pods for 2 nights. Site is in a beautiful location. Showers / toilets / washing up facilities all very good. On-site pub OK, had a roaring open fire which was appreciated and a little soft-play area off one end, but was a bit rowdy with minimal parental supervision. Not ideal if you have very little ones. The pods were in the middle of the camping / caravan pitches but still a great adventure for the children.Read moreLess
