Wengen is old fashioned (old money) car less resort up on the mountain. Can get there by train,Flight via Basel or drive and book car park via hotel down in valley. Last bit by furnicular train. The hotel, renovated couple of years ago is utterly clean. Take hotel tour to see what I mean. Rooms very comfortable with good beds etc . Have family rooms. Food international. They do not mind kids running around and have a play room and fantastic (child friendly)spa facilities downstairs. Also bar, coffee area (with wifi). It is located 1 minute walk from station, ski lift (get discounted passes at hotel), hire shops and kids ski area. They have heaps of English speaking instructors in the resort and there are plenty of lunch facilities. I learned to ski there 40 years ago and it is still the same. Lots to do for 80 year old mother as well! Fantastic views etc. etc.
