"A Great place for kids -…"
We first went to the Alphubel 8 years ago based on the Mumsnet reviews and have been there every year since. The family that run are so welcoming that we feel part of the family when we walk through the door.
Our kids (2, 6 and 8) absolutely love the kids disco, the biscuit making, the alp horn competition.
The Eskimo ski school is excellent, especially for the younger ones. We meet families here in the hotel, at the ski school and on the slopes who like us come back year after year.
Even when the resort is full, half term week, the slopes are not busy and a lift queues are rarely more than a few minutes. This makes it a great place for kids to learn with confidence.
The Alphubel (booked direct) is great value on peak weeks (half term) compared to the UK based operators. We have been with most of the other specialist family ski operators (most of the Mumsnet top 5-6) and for us this is the best. It gives us the flexibility to have a family stay in the way that we want it without lots of rules like 'kids cannot eat with parents and have to be in bed by a certain time'. The kids also get to mix with their peers from Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Spain which is a lot of fun for them. Overall the best family ski holidayRead moreLess
"Brilliant holiday for all the family…"
We have just returned from an excellent week at Alphubel. It is expensive but then accommodation in ski resorts is and the childcare is included in the price. It is typical atmospheric alpine ski hotel.

The provision for children and families was second to none and we will definately be going back next year.

We have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. The childcare is flexible to fit with your needs, friendly and well thought out. Our older child went to ski school In The morning while the 2 year old was in the kids club. We picked him up and walked back to the hotel stopping for lunch (there is a free shuttle if you wish as it is a good 10/15 min walk with a child) then he joined his brother in kids club. Every day there is a structured activity at 5. So even on the days we took both boys out to play in the afternoon they went back for that so we could get showered etc before dinner.

They don't hold back on the quality of food becasue it is a family hotel. At 7 every evening there is a 5 course meal, the children are made to feel welcome In the dining room and it is a relaxed affair. You can book for the children to have tea at 6 if you want to and then either use the baby listening service or they can play In The play room while you eat. We mixed and matched.

The Swiss Ski school was super and there is a great set up for beginners. But there are other options in Saas Fee.

The hotel staff were all very thoughtful and obviously love what they do. We would definately reccomend.Read moreLess
