Comments from other mumsnetters:
Hotel Alphubel is a "family orientated hotel run by an extended family." Their "attention to detail is excellent (e.g. free transportation and storage of skis at sister hotel right on slopes)." They offer an "excellent standard of English speaking childcare" using a "dedicated room, with an additional games room and option of kids' early dinner." "Saas Fee has a good range of skiing in a snow sure resort with kids' area at resort level for beginners and those finding their legs." The hotel also "provides an electric shuttle bus to get you across the traffic free resort to the slopes."Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

Superb family run hotel catering for families. The Supersaxos work hard to ensure the guests (adults and children) have a brilliant holiday with a varied entertainment programme everyday. We could hit the slopes knowing the kids were happy and well looked after. Brilliant holiday, we will be booking for next year.

We have just returned from this hotel and had an absolutely fabulous time! It was our first trip to a hotel with a baby (15 months) and the family who run the hotel could not have made it easier for us. They think of everything and are very helpful.
The kindergarten and children activities are great and the standard of care is very high. I felt relaxed skiing knowing that my little one would be having fun and doing lots of different things!
The hotel has fabulous views due to its location up a hill and overlooking the village. Our room had a lovely balcony where we could relax with a glass of wine and take in the mountains.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to families with children. Don't worry about the hotel being a long way from the slopes as there is a shuttle bus and skis can be left by the slopes. The walk through the village doesn't take long either and is pretty with great apres ski atmosphere.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

March 09. The Alphubel is in a great location with outstanding views over the village and over the mountains. We went for a south facing balcony room so we could be amazed at the views across the village and up into the mountains.
The welcome we had from the Supersaxos was outstanding. Our two children (aged 6 and 4) had a wonderful time, and could not have been made more at home. All our childcare was free of charge. Heather, from the English speaking kindergartenwas, was fantastic with the kids and they were more than happy being picked up from the slopes and brought back to the play room in the hotel for an afternoon of stimulation. Lunch was provided for them, and they were helped in and out of their snow clothes. They particularly enjoyed the Pizza making on Thursday followed by the fireworks in the garden. We could sit and relax with a few drinks outside the play room while the children enjoyed the fun and games inside. The older children would enjoy it too - it has a wonderful Games room downstairs, including table tennis and numerous electronic games including xbox 360
Herr Supersaxo is an expert mountaineer and is renouned for his guided walks and his evening entertainments (Alphorn, glockenspiel, Pan pipes, Swiss bells, dancing, fireworks).. And this is all done with the utmost charm. All the staff went out of their way to ensure that their guests have an enjoyable, entertaining and memorable stay.
Downsides? Based on the other side of the village from the ski slopes, but boots and skis can be stored at the free lockers held at their sister hotel which is at the foot of the slopes and they run their own free electric taxi service for guests. Altogether a wonderful, beautiful place. We will returnRead moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

The childcare was not quite as good as we'd anticipated; beware that on school holidays it is extremely busy and the carer: child ratio much worse than is normally the case than under UK regulations. So better for older, more independent children than under 5's.
Hotel facilities good although it is at the other end of the village to the ski lifts. Good entertainemnt evenings if you are full board and food OK. Rooms comfortable.
It is a long journey from the airports as you need a c 2.5 hr train and a 50 min bus. However a very pleasant resort with some good restaurants and good leisure centre with pool.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

What a brilliant find! Thanks Mumsnet! We will be going back again and again. This hotel could charge much more than it does - I think the family just love doing what they do. The rooms are clean and basic, the kid's club is great, the staff are WONDERFUL and everyone is happy. It is brilliant being able to leave your skis at the sister hotel on the slopes and actually we are going to alternate yearly between the two sister hotels as you still get to use the kid's club if you stay at the hotel Waldesruh on the slope and it is only one or two euros a night more expensive. The journey for us from Stansted to Sion was the best ski journey ever. One hour to Stansted and one hour from Sion to Saas Fee. I think Eskimo Ski School was better than the Swiss Ski School. The public pool was nice too.

I can't praise it enough. The Supersaxo family does its absolute best to ensure everyone is having a good time and their efforts are greatly appreciated. Great food, fantastic childcare by two mothers who really know how to take care of children. Fireworks, ski races for the children, discos for the little ones... the list goes on. It's not the easiest place to reach but once you're there, it's fabulous.

Fantastic hotel, very child friendly. Saas Fee is a lovely place and the skiing is not too challenging - so great for smaller children. Our kids had a fab time and the little one enjoyed nursery. Heather and her team do their utmost to make the children feel welcome. Great evening dinners where children are welcome. We are returning next year.

Wonderful hotel run by a lovely family for families. If you have young children they will love the playroom and all the many activities laid on by the nursery staff. Heather & her team are tireless and are happy to dress the children in all their ski clobber and transport them to ski school. And it's not expensive! We'll be back.

If you're looking for an excellent family run hotel, with a superb kids club, then that's what you get at the Alphubel. We stumbled on this place 8 years ago when our children were 11 months and 3 years and we've been coming ever since. The kids club is first rate with carers led by the effervesecent and fun-loving Heather. Our kids are 8 and 11 now so are out of the day club but still remember fondly the snow parks, painting, and toboggan races provided by the Alpubel. Now they enjoy the evening fun of "playing in a band" and the ice-curling was a big hit this year! 8 years on and both the children and the adults, who simply enjoy the service, friendship and individual charm of the place, plus the marvellous skiing continue to enjoy their time at the Alphubel.

Excellent! Great for kids from birth upwards (including those with special needs) excellent English speaking kindergarten, available all day or half days. Transport put on to slopes, even on request. Not only do they have a wonderful time with activities of all natures indoor and out, but they provide meals for them, special chocolate fondues at the slopes, Ski sessions of their own with GoSulino, sledging, etc..they get them ready or help them in and out of their ski wear, you really have nothing to worry about except trying to get them to go home at the end of the holiday! You can relax and enjoy the slopes or the other wonderful facilities available in Saas Fee including Spas, snow shoeing etc..The older children love it too - it has a wonderful Games room, with wooden toys, table tennis, and numerous electronic games including xbox 360, (be warned the dads may offer to supervise the children, and play all night themselves!)Every afternoon/early evening there is a special activity for the children, discos, cooking their own special dinner with the chef, to Alpinehorn blowing and XBox competions. A relaxing holiday all round, and a sheer delight for children. Most if not all the childcare and activities are also free. Wonderful atmosphere, great staff, happy kids, booking for next year - the summer is also as good as the winter, not quite sure which will win.

Hotel Alphubel is a cosy and comfortable place for a family with small children. My very clingy 1 year old crawled into the childcare/playroom without a second glance, meaning I could actually ski! My 6 and 4 year olds were enraptured by the ski school experience, the company of other children at the hotel, the children's activities and the games room. It's true that when the children enjoy themselves, parents can relax. The childcare/entertainment was so well thought out and connected that it really made the holiday. Thank you for such a lovely holiday.
