Comments from other Mumsnetters:
Everyone praised the "top quality", "friendly" childcare offered by the Ski Esprit nannies, "if you want to ski all day without your children you can, safe in the knowledge that they are being well cared for in the snow clubs". Conveniently, the "nursery slope is right outside the door" of this chalet and what's more there are "easy slopes back to the village" so it's "an ideal resort for novice skiers." Overall: a "highly recommended" family ski holiday that's "good value for money."Read moreLessMumsnetter RachelMumsnet

Stayed in the Begonia, which was OK, but had a very small living area which meant there was nowhere for the kids to escape to except into each others rooms (not great for the family with the big room at the front...)
Food fine, and chalet staff v. helpful. location next to the nursery slope (ski in/out) was great except for the fact that there was a slow 'poleing' section to get to the main lift afterwards.
A lovely family resort - good for beginners. Great little runs through the woods for the kids, and they loved the kids snow park bit with the jumps and rails!
Getting over into La Thuile is not as easy as you may think - and only really for experienced skiers - a long, cold drag lift wihch you wouldn't want to fall off, as there is no piste either side. It sounds as if this is quite frequently closed too.Read moreLessMumsnetter Legacy

Stayed here Feb this year. Resort excellent for families - ski area not huge but we didn't cover it in a week - good varity of runs, esp when La Thuile link open. Would certainly go to resort again. Evo 2 ski school recommended. Chalet bedrooms were fine for the family though no real drying facilities. Rooms clean but living area not cleaned adequately, particularly as Kids Clubs ate lunch in there - would sit down for afternoon tea to peas and sweetcorn all over the floor and often had to sweep up before we could relax! Didn't use much of the childcare - seemed to be particularly geared to youngsters (under 5) ours were older and I think would have found it boring. Fortunately they are good enough skiers to ski with us most of the day. Hosts were friendly enough but reps tended come in at inconvenient times - eg during dinner and not all the info was accurate. Meals were fine but have had better quality from far more basic kitchens at other chalets. Some other Esprit chalets (Schatzi in particular) were particularly criticised by others the week we were there. We went last minute and didn't pay full price and thought it was reasonable value but possibly not at full price.

"This was our third trip to La Rosiere with Esprit.…"

This was our third trip to La Rosiere with Esprit. La Rosiere is a great resort for families - small and unpretentious and the local ski school were suberb. Unfortunately after our trip this January with Esprit I couldn't recommend you travel with them. Basic hygiene in the chalet was very poor. All area's of the chalet were dirty and the kitchen would not pass basic environmental checks. In previous years the food has been very good. This year food was often very late and frequently burnt. Breakfast was never ready on time and we frequently had to tidy the kitchen/dinning room in the morning so we, the guests, could begin to prepare breakfast! On the chalet host's day off there was no milk at all and we had to dash out to buy it before ski school. I don't expect to have to do housework, catering and buy provisions in a catered chalet!! From talking to Esprit guests in other chalets at the resort the situation was as bad. This is a pity as Esprit had a winning formula in previous years. Finally, their customer service in following up complaints has been poor.

Resort skiing very limited if the link to La Thuile is closed by weather. Chalets for family holidays need thicker walls, and chalet hosts who are not in the middle of a break-up. Maybe their minds on their rows interfered with food hygeine; a quarter of us were ill on the last day.

Gorgeous family friendly resort which is picturesque and very friendly. Incredibly friendly staff, brilliant ski school (Evolution 2) and amazing food, thanks to our wonderful chalet host. Something for everyone, from our beginner 3 year old to his highly experienced daddy! We will be returning!
