This is a fantastic place to stay with kids. It's at the top of the first cable car from the centre of Morzine, so once you've done the initial haul of getting your skis/boots and luggage up there (although the Crystal couriers did help us with this), everything is so easy. My previous experience of skiing was carting the skis on a crowded bus and then walking 20 min. You can literally ski straight from the front door. The nursery slopes are right outside the front door which is great cos you don't have to carry the children's skis around, and the ski-school meets up right outside the front door. We're pretty novice ski-ers and it was perfect for us. It's possible to ski all the way down into the village just using blue slopes but from talking to other folk in the hotel, there's plenty of good ski-ing for more experienced ski-ers also - it's possible to ski over the border into Switzerland.
The hotel itself was great for families - the food was very good, the rooms basic but comfortable and the couriers couldn't have put themselves out more for us. For apres ski there's a bar, swimming pool (a bit chilly for me) and also when the slopes clear in the early evening, all the nursery slopes for tabogganing which was a favourite with our kids. We didn't use the creche although friends did and were very happy with it. The creche teachers would take the children up to ski-school each morning which seemed to work well. The ski-instructors were a bit harsh and not particularly patient with the kids but I think you find this all over the Alps. I would definately recommend this hotel to families - primarily because of it's fantastic location.Read moreLess
