"We stayed at the Terrachu with our one year-old and…"
30-Apr-2009
We stayed at the Terrachu with our one year-old and grandparents and enjoyed it a lot. It is not a "luxury" place to stay but a good value option. We had adjoining rooms with the grandparents which was great for sharing childcare, and both rooms were a good size and well furnished, though the bathroom needed a little work. Rooms have mini baths with a shower, but no shower holder which was a pity. Our rooms opened onto the front veranda, with a short walk to the bar and restaurant; all the other rooms are accessed from inside. This suited us well for pushchair access etc! Food was generally good and there was a bar with TV. Although it was really a small hotel, the food was "chalet board" so included tea and cakes in the afternoon and some wine with meals.
The hotel didn't have special kids' facilities apart from the basics (cot, highchair etc - be warned you need to hire a cot separately at a small charge!), and didn't have childcare, though this was available nearby I believe; but we found the staff very helpful with our boy and glad to make special food for him, or help with washing when he was sick one night.
The resort is great as it has a real mix of skiing, so something for everyone; and as it is high, the snow is generally good. The chalet is a short walk or free bus ride from the nearest part of town, although we were slightly disappointed that it didn't seem to be quite as near to the lifts/pistes as we had believed from the brochure. Overall though we had a very good holiday there.Read moreLess
