"Ski Fusion is owned by Nev and Lucy and they…"
Ski Fusion is owned by Nev and Lucy and they also own a local bar (Bar Fusion) and a restaurant (Eat Fusion). Their saying is "it's your holiday, you decide" and we really did feel that to be the case. We chose the chef and chalet maid's day off, we chose our meals from a choice of three for each course, we chose what time we ate at and whether the children ate with us or ate earlier etc.
The Chef, Craig, was excellent. The food was not good, it wasn't even great, it was exceptional. Craig shops every two days in Bourg St Maurice so we have lots of local fresh produce.
Sally the chalet maid was great fun and oh, how I could get used to be handed a cup of freshly brewed coffee every morning, the minute I sat down at the breakfast table!!
The chalet was a fab location - if the snow had been better we would have been able to ski back to our boot room door! and the walk to the lift in the morning was literally about 3 minutes.
We had two rooms, each with en suite on the ground floor. The lounge, kitchen and dining area plus the staff rooms were on the middle floor and there were two more bedrooms upstairs. All the rooms have en suites.
The boot room is large with an electric boot warmer and radiator with hooks above for hanging you damp ski gear. There is also a laundry room and a hot tub!
La Rosiere is a good all round resort. Learner drag/button lifts, a children's area, easy green/blues and reds. Yet up to the fort and over the other side and you are in Italy. Perfect.
We travelled by ski train into Bourg St Maurice and then had a 20-25 minute journey up the moutain in Ski Fusion's minibus with Richard the driver.
Sally came with us the first morning to show us where to take the children for their ski school (5 mins walk from the chalet) and then skied with us for an hour or so to show us the main lifts and runs.
The things lacking in this resort are a swimming pool and maybe a play area.
It wasn't a cheap holiday but we really do think that we got value for money.
We loved it though and we are going back next season, no doubt about that.Read moreLess
