"The best chalet holiday yet. The accomodation, food and wine"
09-Feb-2010
The best chalet holiday yet. The accomodation, food and wine was excellent (often we find the wine undrinkable and end up buying our own.) The staff were all lovely. The chalet had a great layout although the stairs were a huge draw to our toddler.
This chalet was slightly further out of town, which made it slightly cheaper, but Ski Armadillo run a free minibus service running from 8am till 1am and we quickly aparted to calling our driver to take us from A to B!
There is an independent nursery/creche called "Garden of the Smurfs" (but in Swiss "Les Schtroumphs") which is really flexible about bookings and is open from 8.30 till 5.30 and they speak quite good English.
I love the skiing. Lots of variety and the resort is renouned for it's off piste.
For lessons European Snowsport was great as I had an English speaking instructor for the first time which made such a difference. I could have spent all day everyday with our instructor Chris Ackner.
We flew Snowjet to Sion airport which worked out well as the plane was only 1/4 full which meant spare seats for the little rascal. Plus the transfer time from there is nice and short - important with a toddler.
On the downside it is an expensive resort but it's now my favourite. I can't tell you much about the apres ski but my childless friends had a great time!Read moreLessMumsnetter Annabel56
