Chalet Chovettaz

Chalet Chovettaz is the place that makes those pre baby dreams come true... 'our lives will not change!' We based our family of 4 ski holiday in the warm, welcoming chalet, with the help of a wonderful Norland nanny and bags of on site toys. Our children, aged 6 months and 23 months were immediately won over, happily relaxed in their home from home. We were able to enjoy the winter sports available during the day, trying out both the family resort of Les Contamines which is a short walk or 4 minute vehicle transfer away and taking an off piste guide in the more extreme area of Argentiere. We love our skiing! We returned to the chalet to find afternoon tea waiting, food for children prepared and a warm hot tub with spectacular views or a relaxing sauna on standby to round off the athletic day. Once the children were in bed (we were given a flat at the end of the 12 bed chalet where the corridor was shut off for two rooms to be seperate for us to be noisy and safe), the onslaught of food and drinks commenced. The bar is inclusive. Dinner is a 6 course affair, starting with aperitif's in front of the fire, a starter, main course, cheese course, dessert and home made chocolates. For us, we felt as if we attended a different restaurant every night, always surprised by the delicacies that were in store for us. The luxurious bedroom with ensuite bathroom made a haven for a peaceful sleep, before a hearty breakfast. We have fallen for les contamines too, good families of all ages with activities from skiing to dog sledging in winter, from swimming in the lake to golf in the summer, all enclosed within a sleepy, local community village.
