"The pool is wonderfully relaxing with it's views over the fields of sheep.…"
The pool is wonderfully relaxing with it's views over the fields of sheep. My daughter (3) gained so much confidence in the water during the week. The kids love the daily routine of feeding the rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs, alpacas, goats, pigs and chicken's and learning all their names. The pigs, Plum and Crumble, were my daughter's favourite. The old dairy farm is beautifully converted. The courtyard in the centre of the cottages is a great place for parents to relax and for the kids to meet and play on bikes and scooters, (all provided) The cottages are very well equipped and farmer Tim and his team are very welcoming and great with the kids.Read moreLess
"Fantastic family fun…"
We have just returned from our 4th visit to Tredethick and yet again loved it. It's like visiting family now :-)
We started going when our little boy J was just 10 months old - they were great - supplied cots, high chairs, backpacks for walking trips, blackout blinds, stairgates where needed (though most of the cottages are on one level). Even being small he loved seeing the animals and pony riding, and the indoor swimming pool and soft play facilities - he even tried eating the sand in the indoor sandpit.
Since then they've added/improved an outdoor playground and a hot tub garden for the grown ups... We've used one of their recommended babysitters who J loves to go out to some of the lovely local restaurants. J makes full use of the tractors/scooters/bikes, especially going round and round the fountain in the courtyard with other children while the parents sit and chat and drink tea/coffee/wine/beer!
You really don't need to leave the cottages for the whole trip - but if you do there are some great places, villages and beaches to explore. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project are closeby, along with the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway for the little (and big) boys!
My only complaints are the lack of local ales in the farm shop, lack of wifi down at Guildhouse, and the high season prices - it's not cheap and when our little boy starts school we're going to have to go during the winter or stop going completely. It's fantastic value off season, but at high season we could probably get a week or two at Disney for the same cost. Loyalty discounts for returners would be good but as they are usually fully booked with returners this probably doesn't make business sense!Read moreLess

"relaxing and fun, great for toddlers…"
We stayed in Scantlebury with our 22 month old daughter for one week in June 2014.
This cottage was so much more spacious than we expected and had everything we needed.
The site itself had plenty for you to do if the weather wasn’t great. Having the swimming pool and hot tub was a real plus point.
Our daughter absolutely loved feeding the animals and having a ride on the ponies.
All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing week. Will definitely be booking up for 2 weeks next year.Read moreLess
"Fantastic place for young children and parents, beautiful surroundings…"
My partner and 1 went to Tredethick Farm Cottages with out 2 1/2 year old after a friend reccomended them. We were not dissapointed. Cottages are fitout beautifully with all mod cons. The farm has everything you need to entertain children up to around 6 years old and is centrally located to reach many sights within a short drive to keep the whole family entertained. Farmer Tim and his staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They have thought of everything.Read moreLess
"Great place for young children…"
Tredethick cottages provided the perfect safe environment for my daughter to run around and be constantly entertained by the daily outings to feed the animals, collect eggs, ride the ponies, swim in the lovely indoor pool, play in the soft play area and the indoor sandpit and outdoor play area. She spent hours scooting around with her new found friends (bikes and scooters provided). All the facilities looked brand new and It proved to be a very relaxing break even with a very active 3 year old!Read moreLess
"Great Family Holiday…"
We've just ccome back from our second stay at Tredethick. Our daughter being a year older really got the most out of it this time round.
The cottages are great and there are loads of things for the kids to do on-site to let them run off energy.
The cottages are also located close to a number of great seaside towns and attractions. The daily animal feeding is brilliant and Farmer Tim is great with all the kids.
We'll definitely be going back for a few years to come.Read moreLess
"High standard of accommodation…"
We were very pleased with the little details, e.g. Leaving packs with farm plates and tractors, very clean swimming facilities, well organised farm, comfortable, very close to the Eden project and beaches.Read moreLess
"A brilliant place for little people - and big people…"
This is one of the best places we have been to. You feel completely safe with your children running around. The facilities are terrific and so there's always something to do. The staff go the extra mile to make sure that the accomodation is set up the way that suits you and your children. We even had a knife sharpener sent back in the post that we forgot.
And Farmer Tim hypnotizing a chicken is not to be missed!Read moreLess
"Great place to stay…"
Just come back from a week at Tredethick Farm and we all loved it. We stayed in Dairy Cottage - it was very clean, spacious and stylish. The facilities are great - lovely swimming pool, great soft play for a 3and 16 month old, great outdoor play area and good indoor play also. The animal feeding was the highlight of the holiday - bottle feeding lambs everyday was magical!
We had a great holiday here and would highly recommend for anyone else with young family.Read moreLess

"Perfect holiday for small children…"
We have just returned from a week on Tredethick Farm and I would highly recommend it for younger children, my 3 year old who was nervous of the animals at feeding time (with Farmer Tim most mornings) was happily giving the lambs a bottle by the end of the week. If you aren't feeding animals, there is a soft play room with amazing hot chocolate, coffee, an indoor pool, stunning walks. The accommodation was great too, clean and all details carefully thought out. Highly recommend.Read moreLess
"Our regular family retreat…"
Our 7th visit this time - need I say more???
We're already booked in for a second time in 2014 too.
If you have small children/school children/combination, then this is definitely the place to come. All of the cottages are top-spec and the facilities second to none. For a self-catering holiday it is perfect.
Our favourite is obviously the animal-feeding/interaction with all the team at Tredethick but we also love meeting new people and making friends in the soft-play area, the indoor swimming pool and the local area has lots to do as well. We've always been out-of-season as that's when it really comes into it's own - it doesn't matter about the weather here.Read moreLess

"Fantastic, can't fault it…"
Went for the first time last September and we were so impressed that we are going again this September - we stayed in Searles, really high quality accommodation, facilities were fantastic from soft play with coffee to the pool, little park and trampoline. Little touches like high quality frozen meals, treats and DVDs on site were great. Of course main attraction is the animals, our 2.5 loved it, especially the pony rides. Lots to do in area but really you never need to go off site. We both relaxed instantly and none of us wanted to leave. Daughter already can't wait to go back this year and I can imagine it's somewhere we'd return to year after year.Read moreLess
"Great family holiday!…"
We have been to Tredethick with our older 2 daughters twice and loved it! The accommodation is lovely and the facilities (playbarn, outdoor play area, indoor soft play, swimming pool)are great especially when the weather isn't! Farmer Tim and all his helpers are fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and they were great with the children! Scones and a visit from Farmer Tim on arrival made us feel very welcome. Our girls are begging to go back!Read moreLess
"Perfect family getaway…"
We were invited to stay at Tredethick Farm last weekend and we had a wonderfully restful weekend.
The DC are so well looked after by Farmer Tim and family - he is the new pin-up in our house this week.
When we arrived it was late and we let ourselves into the cottage where there were freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream. The beds in the very spacious rooms were made up and ready for the DC to jump straight into while we
got the wine outrelaxed. We lit the fire which was set up and ready and really did just switch off - bliss.
The following morning after breakfast the children went to feed the animals with farmer Tim. Tredethick Farm has lambs (that we bottle fed) pigs, chickens and alpacas. The children got to get up close and personal with them and Tim did a great job of telling the DC all about them. We collected some fresh eggs to take back for lunch.
The DC were then invited to have a ride on the pony and get a sticker - they were really pleased and well looked after.
Tredethick Farm has a large playbarn with an indoor sandpit and slide, a pool table, table football and various other activities. There is a small honesty run farm shop with local produce and a large soft play room with free proper coffee, comfy sofas and papers - it really does feel as though they have thought of everything for parents and children.
There is also a swimming pool, which is lovely and warm and a hot tub garden - even in the first week of December, this was absolute bliss, we felt thoroughly spoilt.
We didn't need to take anything specific to our DC, they provided stairgates, a cot if you need it, cutlery, bowls and plates, there are even scooters and ride-ons to borrow.
We stayed for the weekend and only left to pop to the shop. there is so much to do and see and the fresh air makes the DC sleep for longer ;)
We would definitely go back, a lovely restful time had by all, you can tell it is run by folks who know what it's like to have children, of all ages.Read moreLess

"A holiday haven for children! Farmer Tim, Jill and Jenny…"
A holiday haven for children! Farmer Tim, Jill and Jenny are great with the children and soon have even the most shy child bottle-feeding the lambs and grooming and riding the ponies. Tredethick Farm allows parents to relax because the facilities ensure your child doesn't easily get bored. There's an indoor soft-play barn (with sofas, newspapers and coffees for the parents), a barn with games for older children as well as an indoor sandpit and a brand new outside playground. There is a lovely warm indoor pool with floaties provided. There are walks on the farm and nearby, there are great beaches 10-15 mins. away and other terrific tourist attractions like the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Padstow, the zoo and aquarium in Newquay, Lanhydrock House as well as a number of exciting castles are easily reached from the farm. The cottages are great - they're clean, well-equipped and have comfortable beds. We've been twice now and have already booked for next year. We thoroughly recommend Tredethick.Read moreLess

"A very expensive holiday and not as relaxing for parents…"
A very expensive holiday and not as relaxing for parents as the website makes out! Can get 2 weeks abroad for the same money and at least you can guarantee that the sun will shine A bit disappointing all round really as the accomodation was definately not 5*. The children liked the animal feeding and other than that, it was basically staying on a farm for an extortionate amount of dosh!!Read moreLess

We visited the farm in dec 2010. It was freezing but we still had a ball! Facilities fantastic, farmer Tim brilliant, cottages cosy - you can not beat this farm stay. Only problem is being organised enough to book in advance as it's always booked up and rightly so! You have to go, your kids will love it our daughter always talks about her holiday and can't wait to returnRead moreLess
