"Perfect family getaway…"
We were invited to stay at Tredethick Farm last weekend and we had a wonderfully restful weekend.
The DC are so well looked after by Farmer Tim and family - he is the new pin-up in our house this week.
When we arrived it was late and we let ourselves into the cottage where there were freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream. The beds in the very spacious rooms were made up and ready for the DC to jump straight into while we
got the wine outrelaxed. We lit the fire which was set up and ready and really did just switch off - bliss.
The following morning after breakfast the children went to feed the animals with farmer Tim. Tredethick Farm has lambs (that we bottle fed) pigs, chickens and alpacas. The children got to get up close and personal with them and Tim did a great job of telling the DC all about them. We collected some fresh eggs to take back for lunch.
The DC were then invited to have a ride on the pony and get a sticker - they were really pleased and well looked after.
Tredethick Farm has a large playbarn with an indoor sandpit and slide, a pool table, table football and various other activities. There is a small honesty run farm shop with local produce and a large soft play room with free proper coffee, comfy sofas and papers - it really does feel as though they have thought of everything for parents and children.
There is also a swimming pool, which is lovely and warm and a hot tub garden - even in the first week of December, this was absolute bliss, we felt thoroughly spoilt.
We didn't need to take anything specific to our DC, they provided stairgates, a cot if you need it, cutlery, bowls and plates, there are even scooters and ride-ons to borrow.
We stayed for the weekend and only left to pop to the shop. there is so much to do and see and the fresh air makes the DC sleep for longer ;)
We would definitely go back, a lovely restful time had by all, you can tell it is run by folks who know what it's like to have children, of all ages.Read moreLess
"A holiday haven for children! Farmer Tim, Jill and Jenny…"
A holiday haven for children! Farmer Tim, Jill and Jenny are great with the children and soon have even the most shy child bottle-feeding the lambs and grooming and riding the ponies. Tredethick Farm allows parents to relax because the facilities ensure your child doesn't easily get bored. There's an indoor soft-play barn (with sofas, newspapers and coffees for the parents), a barn with games for older children as well as an indoor sandpit and a brand new outside playground. There is a lovely warm indoor pool with floaties provided. There are walks on the farm and nearby, there are great beaches 10-15 mins. away and other terrific tourist attractions like the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Padstow, the zoo and aquarium in Newquay, Lanhydrock House as well as a number of exciting castles are easily reached from the farm. The cottages are great - they're clean, well-equipped and have comfortable beds. We've been twice now and have already booked for next year. We thoroughly recommend Tredethick.Read moreLess

"A very expensive holiday and not as relaxing for parents…"
A very expensive holiday and not as relaxing for parents as the website makes out! Can get 2 weeks abroad for the same money and at least you can guarantee that the sun will shine A bit disappointing all round really as the accomodation was definately not 5*. The children liked the animal feeding and other than that, it was basically staying on a farm for an extortionate amount of dosh!!Read moreLess

We visited the farm in dec 2010. It was freezing but we still had a ball! Facilities fantastic, farmer Tim brilliant, cottages cosy - you can not beat this farm stay. Only problem is being organised enough to book in advance as it's always booked up and rightly so! You have to go, your kids will love it our daughter always talks about her holiday and can't wait to returnRead moreLess

Lots to keep young ones (5 and under) amused and fantastic location for Eden Project, Padstow, Fowey. The only disappointment was the accomodation wasn't as luxurious as I had envisaged and some of the other children were a real pain in the butt! But overall a lovely holiday that the children throughly enjoyed xRead moreLess

We have had 2 holidays at Tredethick and have already booked our third.
5 days a week the day starts with animal feeding and egg collecting. Twice a week there are Pony rides. There is a swimming pool, an indoor play barn with a massive samdpit, and a soft play barn with free tea and coffee. Farmer Tim is great with the children and there are lots of animals to visit and make friends with. A lovely location near lots of great beaches. As good in the winter as in the summer.Read moreLess

"We recently had a our second holiday at Tredethick farm…"
We recently had a our second holiday at Tredethick farm in March 2010 and had a wonderful time. The facilities are excellent; a new and well laid out soft play with coffee facilities and daily papers and magazines for the 'grown ups'. The pool is beautifully kept and is a good size with lovely warm water. The little ones get to feed the animals every morning with pony rides offered twice a week. There is also a play barn with pool, table football and table tennis for the older children and a sand pit with slide for the younger ones. Fantastic, highly recommended, doesn't come cheap though so when our little boy starts school in September this will no longer be a viable option for us:-(
The cottages are excellent too and most people you meet have returned for a second or third visit.Read moreLess

Fantastic holiday, when we were there (March'10) all other guests have been there before, one family have been coming back for the last 10 years!!!
It mostly rained during our stay, but soft play area and swimming pool kept kids busy. There is a "cafe" type area in the soft play barn with fresh coffee and papers and we went there every morning to rest while kids run around!
Animal feeding and pony rides were a fab start to the day. No wonder you have to book at least 6 month in advance...Read moreLess
"Eight self catering cottages set on working farm. Farmer Tim…"
Eight self catering cottages set on working farm. Farmer Tim leads the children round the farm each morning to feed chickens, lambs, goats and pigs.
Large playbarn with sandpit and table games for older children, outdoor trampoline, indoor soft play centre ( small), heated indoor swimming pool.
Expensive, gets really booked up (booking for 2010 already) but excellent standard of accommodation. Central for most attractions in Cornwall. Family friendly and cream teas on arrival!Read moreLess
