GREAT HOTEL, FRIENDLY STAFF , WARM INVITING AND RELAXING ENVIRONMENT. GREAT BASE FOR VISITING SILVERSTONE RACE TRACK - APPROX 1 HOUR DRIVE ALONG WITH BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE.ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH HAS A CASTLE, MUSEUM AND BARGES FOR THE CHILDREN AND IS A HISTORIC SPA TOWN. THE HOTEL IS REALISTICALLY PRICED WITH SOME GREAT OFFERS FOR CHILDREN AND IN MY OPINION GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY FOR LOCATION. YOU COULD ALSO VISIT CADBURYS WORLD - GREAT FUN!

"This has to be one of the noisiest hotels on"
29-Jul-2007
This has to be one of the noisiest hotels on the planet! Not only did they have a wedding reception on - something they neglected to mention when we were booking, despite it being obvious we were travelling with a baby - they also had a live band on, supposedly till midnight. They did change our room, so we got the pleasure of listening to a wedding disco (YMCA and A Walk On The Wild Side with a little bit of Mustang Sally anyone?) instead of a covers band, but the music didn't finish till well after midnight, and the room backed onto the hotel gardens, so we also had the happy sounds of overtired, hyped up children running around.
Because we changed rooms, the cot we had asked to be provided wasn't in the room. Fortunately we had brought our own travel cot, but when we asked for sheets to put in it, we were told that "We do have a wedding on" and that we'd get them "As soon as possible." Not very useful if you've got a tired baby who wants to go to sleep.
The room was the approximate temperature of a small inferno, and of course opening the window doubled the intensity of the noise. There was a small fan, but all this did was circulate the fetid air. The bed was barely big enough to warrant being called a double, and the shower ineffective.
I don't know how much the rooms are per night, as I didn't book them, but if you're thinking of travelling to the glamorous resort of Ashby de la Zouche, for goodness sake, save yourself some pennies and stay in the Premier Travel Inn up the road. You'll get a better welcome, and it'll undoubtedly be quieter!Read moreLessMumsnetter theUrbanDryad
